Should I just wait until the GOTY edition with all the DlC or just cop now?

I bought it way back when it first dropped and Im thinking this same shit. Should I trade it in for store credit, and get the GOTY edition with it to keep from buying the DLC for what theyre asking. Ive waited this long, whats another 6-8 months??? As long as my saves work I can wait it out, cause that DLC price hasnt really dropped like I need it to.

Every dlc expansion was free but the Heart Of Stone and the recently released Blood & Wine dlc. Buying those two expansions will run you about $40. Most game of the year editions are either $60 to $40 dollars plus tax. So you're going to have to spend more money buying the GOTY edition plus having to go back and replay the game from the start. Running you at over 200+ hours of gameplay when new fall game releases are about to release.

Yeah I was talking the expansions. Will my saves not work with the GOTY edition??? I can get almost 20 dollars for it in trade credit according to the Gamestop app. Im looking at 40 dollars right now just for the DLC. If I added a few more games with it I could come out cheaper. Unless of course my saves wont work. Then fuck it.

I don't think your saves are going to work. The dlc is coded into the game already so if I had to guess your save files won't be compatible.

I finished the main story of the blood and wine dlc today. A very fitting ending to Geralt's story. Came across a easter egg side quest involving Roach that was amusing. You even get a home to retire in. This dlc is a most have. Also you can dye your witcher gear to whatever color you desire provided you have the dye in your inventory or can purchase some from a merchant.

No doubt... I guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet. Been getting the itch to start it back up lately.

They added bandit forts. I got slaughtered the first time I went in around being a lvl 49. The enemies were at 47. I went back and completed it today after leveling up to 53 or 54. Had to use a %70 toxicity potion plus swallow to get my health back. There's also a enemy scaling system you can turn on now so you won't be overpowered if you go back to Novigrad or White Orchard.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer CD Projekt Red is planning to release a Game of the Year Edition of the open-world action game, the studio confirmed today in a statement to Polygon.

"With all the free DLC and updates the game received so far, including significant changes to the game’s interface and mechanics, many gamers have asked us if we’re working on some sort of a ‘Game of the Year Edition,’" said game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz. "I’m happy to confirm – yes, plans are in motion to release such an edition. We’ll release more details, including the release date, in the future."

The news was first reported by Eurogamer, after a rating for such an edition wasspotted on USK, the German ratings board. Citing an anonymous source, Eurogamer reports that The Witcher 3’s Game of the Year Edition will be available Aug. 26, although a CD Projekt Red representative told Polygon that the studio "currently [doesn’t] have any details to share on when it will be released."

The Witcher 3 debuted in May 2015 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. CD Projekt Red has released two expansions for the game: Hearts of Stone in October, andBlood and Wine this past May. A Game of the Year Edition would presumably include both of those paid add-ons, as well as all of the game’s free downloadable content.

Witcher 3 saves not compatible with GOTY edition

It looks as if save files from the vanilla version of
The Witcher 3 will not be compatible with the upcoming Witcher 3: Game of the Year Edition. That is likely to come as a bummer to anyone who held out on grabbing any of the DLC for the main game.

The reason behind this oddity has to do with software incompatibility on consoles. The community coordinator for CD Projekt Red, Marcin Momot, explained this detail on the company's official message board.

"The save files on consoles won't be compatible between different game versions (GOTY vs regular version) as they are treated by systems as separate products. This is something that's not up to us. Sorry."

I don't really buy that as Dynasty Warriors 8 allows you to import your save from the PS3 to the PS Vita or PS4, but I guess this isn't that big of an issue. Complete packages are typically meant for late adopters, even if the discounted price usually means spending less.

On the bright side, the GOTY edition will include a separate Achievement/Trophy list. Nothing was mentioned about the PC version, so I guess the "master race" wins again...DiscoverDownloadable ContentSaved GameCD ProjektPlayStation Vita

Warning: The Witcher 3 GOTY Edition won't let you carry over save data [Eurogamer]

The Witcher Is Getting A Netflix Series

qsokwsva7cz6rjg8zzob.png

The Witcher series is being turned into an English language Netflix drama by CG visual effects company Platige Image S.A.

The Witcher series was spawned by Polish novelist Andrzej Sapkowski and has spawned highly successful (and wonderful) video games.

“I’m thrilled that Netflix will be doing an adaptation of my stories, staying true to the source material and the themes that I have spent over thirty years writing,” said Sapkowski, who will service as a creative consultant, in an official release. “I’m excited about our efforts together, as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life.”

The show will be executive produced by Sean Daniel (The Mummy franchise) and Jason Brown (The Expanse). The Oscar nominated visual effects studio Platige Image S.A. is doing the show, but the official release doesn’t specifically state if it’s CG animated or live-action—or a mix of the two. No stills have been release yet, either.

Previously, Platige Image S.A. has done cinematics for The Witcher games, which were directed by Tomasz Bagiński. He’s also going to be one of the show’s directors. Maybe that’s a hint at what to expect?

Inside Xbox One X Enhanced: The Witcher 3

InsideXboxEnhancedWitcher3-hero.jpg

Many of gaming’s most compelling stories come from those who’ve helped to create our favorite Xbox One games. In our Inside Xbox One X Enhanced series, these creators will share the behind-the-scenes accounts of the work involved in enhancing these epic games for Xbox One X, how they’ve helped chart the course of the world’s most powerful console, and what that means for the future of gaming. Today, we’ll be chatting with CD Projekt RED’s Jakub Kutrzuba, Development Lead on the epic RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

What specifically is your development team doing to enhance The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Xbox One X?

With the additional power of the Xbox One X, we are able to deliver The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 4K, while providing numerous visual tweaks such as higher-quality shadows, ambient occlusion & texture filtering, as well as higher resolution textures, and an all-around performance boost.

How do these enhancements impact the gaming experience, and why did your development team choose to focus on these enhancement areas?

Beautiful visuals are one of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s standout features, breathing life into the game’s open-world full of places to see, secrets to uncover, and adventures to embark on. When enhancing the game for Xbox One X, we wanted to use the additional power of the console to deliver an even more visually stunning experience. When playing the game on Xbox One X, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s visuals are sharper and the overall presentation more vivid than ever before on Xbox.

How do you expect fans of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will respond to seeing/playing it on Xbox One X with these enhancements?

We think Xbox users who haven’t played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or who are looking to relive Geralt’s final adventure on the new console will be happy to see what we’ve achieved with the game’s visuals on Xbox One X.

How has the process been to get the game up and running on Xbox One X?

With Xbox One X being part of the Xbox One family of consoles, we didn’t have to worry about compatibility and were free to focus on what we could do to enhance the game. The implementation process for the new visual features was also rather hassle free and something Microsoft assisted us with all the way.

What enhancement were you most excited about to explore leveraging for The Witcher 3 on Xbox One X?

Thanks to 4K, we can show everything our artists created with more detail. And it’s not just owners of a 4K TV who will benefit from the higher resolution. Thanks to supersampling, the leap in quality will be visible even on a 1080p screen.

What does 4K and HDR mean for your game, games in the future and development at your studio?

With the technology becoming more widespread, 4K is looking like the next step for the gaming industry to achieve more in terms of visuals.

New Enhanced Xbox 360 Titles And Feature Come To Xbox One Backward Compatibility

Bill Stillwell, Lead Program Manager on the Xbox Platform team, provides an update on the Backward Compatibility program including new enhanced Xbox 360 titles and a new feature.

940x528.jpg

Starting today, four new Xbox 360 titles will be enhanced for Xbox One X, which includes The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Forza Horizon, Fable Anniversary and Crackdown, the newest addition available now in the Xbox One Backward Compatibility library. We’re also excited to release a new graphics setting for enhanced Xbox 360 titles on Xbox One X to give you more control over your gaming experience.

Xbox 360 games that are enhanced for Xbox One X run at a higher resolution and 9X the original pixel count on Xbox One X. The power of Xbox One X enables the Xbox 360 emulator to showcase the very best version of the game possible with the existing assets—all without touching the game code. Today’s additions join the seven previously released Enhanced Xbox 360 titles like Halo 3, Skate 3, and Gears of War 3 for a total of 11 Xbox One X Enhanced Xbox 360 games.

Here is the full list of Xbox 360 games that are in the Xbox One X Enhanced catalog:

When you play Enhanced Xbox 360 games on Xbox One X, you can now choose how to experience them—with enhanced graphics or in their original form. Enhanced graphics will be turned on by default, running your game with higher resolution, 9X the pixel count, increased texture details and antialiasing, allowing you to enjoy greater visual clarity than ever before. If you turn off the Graphics setting, the graphics will be comparable to the experience on Xbox One or Xbox One S. Here’s how to access the setting. Note, once you change the setting, you’ll need to restart the game:

  1. Press “View” and “Menu” buttons on the controller to pull up the Xbox 360 guide
  2. Navigate to “Settings” blade
  3. Select “Xbox One X Settings”

We’re thrilled with the continued excitement for Xbox One Backward Compatibility—the community has played more than 840 million hours of Xbox 360 games on Xbox One. Compatibility is important to Xbox, to developers and their games, and our community. Preserving the art form of video games is part of our DNA, which is why Xbox One is the only console designed to play the best games of the past, present and future. We’re excited to continue to deliver on our vision of compatibility and grow our current Backward Compatible library, which includes more than 460 Xbox 360 games, 11 Xbox One X Enhanced Xbox 360 titles, and 13 Original Xbox games.
