They Said No to My Show, Then Made Their Own Version—Help Me Outshine Them. ✪Promo✪

YouTube has more viewers than pretty much any TV platform. Over a billion viewers worldwide. Tapped into all countries and continents. It's also the most streamed platform. For the first time more people watch YouTube on their TV than on their phones or any other device. It don't get no bigger than the masses than that. 2025 the old traditional mindset and concept of TV or how people view things have changed.

He's already on YouTube.

He needs a way to "Get the show to the masses", as in the front of the eyes of millions. And so far it'a not doing that.

And with celebrity backing it could do that.

How many celebs have social media accounts? How many of them have millions of subscribers? So take the top 10 with millions of followers and have them make a post promoting his YouTube channel or saying their fave guilty pleasure is watching his show. Wouldn't you get the same effect with the celebrity cosign? Literally the same promotion

This is true.

If all else fails you could benefit from this and should air him out for publicity which could work if it's handled correctly.

The key IMO is to not come across as attacking or being 'bitter" when exposing his bullshit.

What you should do is create an episode on your channel telling the story of an A list comedian stealing your idea telling the entire thing in the episode.

Make it clear who you're referring to without actually naming him to avoid a potential lawsuit (you can name him something like Tevin Heartless) and then bring it to the attention of famous people who have had issues with him throughout the years like Katt Williams and Mike Epps. If you play it right they may give you some promotion just to antagonize him

It's not free, that a called promotion/advertising and the more followers the more it costs.

Beautiful!

Depending on who you know some would give you a free cosign. It necessarily doesn't have the biggest celebs. That right there still can be done without necessarily depending on stations, certain companies

Bruh what are we doing? In life it's usually always depending on who you know.

Hell Bronny and Thanasis played in the NBA because the know Lebron and Giannis! :roflmao:

Biden was president because he knew Obama.

We're talking about actually heloing the man out and not hypotheticals. If he knew celebrities with millions of followers I'm sure he would've hit them up already.

He made a pitch to an "A-List Comedian" and he slimed him out.

A cosign and working with someone are two different things. There are lot of celebs that will give shout-out or lil segments. Actually investing, connecting you to networks those are diff things.. maybe that a list comedian would've easily said hey when I'm on YouTube I'm watching such a such. Now as far as doing biz diff story

I subscribed to your YouTube channel after episode 3 and was shocked to find out you were a member here. I have used the knowledge I’ve gained from your videos to savagely troll my college friends from Philly so well, they think I’m fucking with a Philly Jawn to have acquired “inside info” LOL

I can't believe that LIL KUNT..
stole your Idea
its hollywood not surprised at all. Ive talked about it on here for yrs about 1 of the reasons why more people aren’t in the game cause certain individuals that are higher up make sure you don’t get there. Another face is just competition in some of their eyes. They look at others as potential revenue loss cause you can possibly fill in a void they trying to get into.. the less people the more options and avenues they could get in. I said that for yrs on here that there could easily be more of a black presence all some individuals had to do was co-sign others, make appearances on others platforms, finance smaller projects, etc.. they just don’t want to or care to..some individuals use to try to argue that wasn’t the case and bam here goes an example of what I was talking about

I'm gonna subscribed to that jawn, philly will always be apart of me along with always using that word JAWN. I remembered as a youngin back then hanging around my friends around the corner hearing the word JAWN and I tried to use that word back at home and I pissed my mom off using it because she didn't know what it mean at the time. :roflmao:

So, I'm gonna make sure I support another philly brotha.

keep doing doing the damn thing.

Your time is coming, hopefully we'll see your work getting the national recognition that it deserves.

I'm confused here? They stole from you and you still wish them success and ain't ready to murk shit?

You've worked hard on your show for years, completing 91 episodes.

It's my first time hearing that they stole from you and I'm ready to air shit out!

shoot-angry.gif

What NEEDS to happen is wherever that other show's being aired, everyone who has an account there needs to AIR THE COMMENT SECTION OUT!

Comments like "Hey, this show's real similar to "Trashterpiece Theater" that's been out for years and has 91 episodes.

You ever heard of it? Because word on the street is that you have. And not only have you heard of it, it appears that the show was sent to you and you stole it"!

And I don't wanna hear about no "A-list comedian", say that muthafucka's name!

Say the name and the name of the show and where it's at and BGOL will ride for you!

BGOLiens, I need your help.

Some of you know I’ve been grinding on my animated comedy, Trashterpiece Theater. It’s an edgy adult animated show set in 1990s and 2000s North Philly, and it’s my baby. It’s my love letter to Philly, the era, and the utter ridiculousness of coming of age as a Xennial. The cool part is it shows how so many of us have similar stories regardless of background and location. I’ve been developing it for a larger platform and pitching it over the past few years, staying patient while waiting for the industry to shift from shows like Rick and Morty back to grounded, character-driven stories like The Boondocks.

Here’s the kicker: This isn’t just a concept. It’s a proof of concept. I’ve got 91 episodes of Trashterpiece Theater out right now. That’s years of work, all done independently—writing, animating, voicing, editing, everything. With no budget.

Here’s the bullshit:

  • 2020: I tried to pitch the show to an A-list comedian from my neighborhood through a mutual friend. He passed, then created his own version of my show and posted it on his IG (it’s still up). He was checked on it and never did another episode.
  • 2021: A producer I was working with sent it to his team. They passed, saying they “weren’t doing anything edgy.”
  • 2022: It was sent to him again by an industry mutual colleague (A John Singleton apprentice). He passed a third time, saying he wasn’t doing edgy content because he was in hot water for some personal stuff and wanted to stay in that Disney/The Rock pocket.
  • 2025: Dude announces his own edgy adult animated coming-of-age series set in 90s North Philly. It’s now airing on a streaming service, and the irony is fucking brutal.
  • This is gonna make pitching to production companies and streamers significantly harder. When I start pitching again, there may be some folks who say my series is too close to his (peep the irony).
I’m not here to bitch about it (okay, maybe a little). There’s nothing I can do to stop his show or force him to admit he stole my premise. But I can fight back by boosting Trashterpiece Theater as much as possible. I’m not giving up on my vision.

Here’s how you can help:
  1. Subscribe to my YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/visionpoet). Bigger numbers = more eyes = more chances to get this show in front of the right people. Plus, higher subscriber counts actually matter when proving to industry folks that there’s interest in my concept. I have 77k on IG, but IG doesn’t push videos over 3 minutes anymore, and my episodes are all 8-10 minutes.
  2. Share the series with anyone who loves edgy, irreverent animation. Word of mouth is everything.
  3. If you’re a YouTuber/Reviewer, I’d love for you to check out the series and share your thoughts. It’s hard to grow when you’re a one-person team grinding out episodes every week. To grow on YouTube, you really have to be uploading daily, and that’s impossible for me right now because animation is so tedious. If you know a review channel or YouTuber, would you refer it to them?
I’m not asking for pity, clout, or to push him down to lift myself up. I don’t want things to get messy because I still want homie to win (maybe I shouldn’t, but I do). All I’m asking for is a fighting chance. Trashterpiece is my heart, and I refuse to let it get overshadowed by someone who couldn’t be bothered to meet with me when I pitched it to them.

Check out a couple of episodes:
  • Pimps, Pranks, & Poltergeist: The Legend of Daddy God

  • The Mason-Dixon Lie

Thanks for reading, and thanks for having my back.

And yeah, I know...

Is this that 'LK' bullshit I just saw on his IG page. That shit was trash. Like real trash.

Trashterpiece Theater beats that by miles. Miles and I'm not just saying that because we cool

Yeah I knew who stole it soon as you said u pitched it to someone in Philly
I went right to the dudes page. I knew straight off who it was. Normally, I don't knock somebody's hustle, but Big Boi said, "Two things I hate liars and thieves they make my blood boil..."

To hijack somebody's idea and then come out with your own wack version of that idea is even worse, and y'all from the same hometown which is triply worse
Just saw they have the 1st episode of LK on Youtube. Couldn't make it pass the 1st 5 minutes.
I couldn't either. LK looks like some wack shit I've seen before. Like Little Bill meets Jive Time Jimmy's Revenge (The movie Robert Townsend walked away from in Hollywood shuffle). Just stereotype stereotype stereotype stereotype.

I made it maybe 2 minutes

So funny you should mention this.....

just saw the trailer for LK
looks wack
I watched it and left this comment: Looks like he stole this idea from Trashterpiece Theater. IIRC, the person that created Trashterpiece Theater pitched this to Kev, and he turned it down, and came out with this. That person already has over 90 episodes of his show on YouTube. Go search for Trashterpiece Theater and see for yourselves.

Same. It felt like it was cliche after cliche. Thought maybe it was AI doing the voices, because no way those people read that script and we're like, "yeah, let's do this." That bag must've been astronomical. However; it is BET+. That Tyler Perry effect was in full force. Boondocks was right about that channel. They hate black people. It was cringe as hell. Sorta like that Good Times cartoon. Before I knew the backstory, I was hoping that LK was going to be like the Everybody Still Hates Chris show, but it 100% was not.

No funny, but Poet is probably better off not working with dude; if that's the quality work he's putting out. It would've broke his hart to see what they would've done to TPT. My boy wrote a movie, sold it, and hates the finish product. To the point he tried to dissuade folks from seeing it. Even with his name plastered all over the jawn

I think every BGOL should bombard their comment section by doing this.

Sounds like Maurice White and Charles Stepney after they saw the finished "That's The Way of the World" movie. They released the album way before the movie came out, because they didn't want that album associated with the movie. To this day, very few people know that album was a soundtrack.

I can't promise you a ton of views, but the least I can do is subscribe to the channel. I respect the hustle, and we've gotta have each others backs when we can.

Not surprised to hear some of what you're dealing with, though. As crummy as it is, the industry is basically like that in a lot of ways. The best thing you have going for you is that you've actually produced work, which is the step that a lot of people never even get to. It sucks that someone is hijacking the same idea, but very often execution is what ends up creating the best results. Best of luck to you.

This is a really good question and something I've been thinking hard about and it's one of the reasons I pivoted to Youtube hoping to really build an audience there instead of IG. Youtube pays it's creators better but it's just difficult af to build there when you can only post weekly. Unless you can get bigger channels to boost you. But to be honest, I don't really care about the fame. I never need to be on a red carpet. Just give me the checks and let me make my art.
Are you doing the YouTube shorts? Have you looked into any of the AI short creators?

I notice my YouTube recommendations are getting flooded with shorts recommendations. They also seem to be getting a ton views, even more views than the videos they were created from.
