But imagine me 24 naive inexperienced employed degree 2 jobs living in NY walking into a room with about 14/16 women thinking I'm gonna school them on how to get a job and go to school etc

All these women Aged about 19 to 38 Black white Latino single homeless hungry experienced angry some with kids

All dressed extremely casual.

All natural all built like brick houses

If they didn't have big breast's? The ass was insane. Flatter ass? Breast's looked cartoonish.

Im Looking like fresh meat

Man after that first week?

The director had to come save me.

I would STILL be paying child support.

I dare one of you to save her. She'll call the biker dude that kicked her thick ass to the curb and all his crew to turn your place out. Then leave on the back of his bike holding some of your stuff. Until she gets put back on the strip in another town and some other fool falls for the scam. FAFO.

As someone who used to work with that specific population?

Those people are morons

I have seen some of the most beautiful women in shelters
I just started working in this space May of 2024. I have seen some of the most attractive people but the one common theme amongst the unhoused that I run across is severe mental illness...I was ignorant to how pervasive homelessness was in this country until I got my current job. And a lot of these people were professionals who ran into the difficult challenges of life...

Man I seen this shit all my life. As a youthman my family would always visit the City aka New Orleans. So seeing homeless people was always a thing…. But in 2023 I went to Vegas. Seeing homeless people there kinda hit me differently. That made me remember riding thru Htown and seeing the shit you’d see on “Night Watch”.

That shit is cray because come next week you might not see no homeless people downtown New Orleans. The Super-Bowl is in town, so that shit needs to be removed.

I think I got used to seeing them in Atlanta and I probably became numb to it...I moved to Central Florida in May and started working out of Daytona Beach (work for the Volusia/Flagler Community Coalition for the Homeless) and I was floored by how many unhoused individuals were here...People who lost their jobs 3 months ago and now have no place to live, wives who were put out by their abusive husbands, drug addicts, newly released prisoners and many many others...I honestly thank God often that he has carried me through some tough times without having to live on the street...

Dawg I exited off the interstate to get gas, stop at the corner took a right, saw some folks chillin,
Hit the next corner to fast, ended up passing the gas station, had to make the block again…
There was a ambulance on the scene. It’s parked near the group. We noticed someone laying on the sidewalk, seem like the medic wasn’t thrilled about administrating help.

I know that’s right… when we’re Not connected to that world, we often wondered how folks ended like that.

After being there, I’m sure one can quickly see how easy it is

I can see that. It's a thick ass chick on one corner. Seen her a couple of times. Clothes in good shape, hair looks ok. Really just looks like a regular woman that just left the house in a hurry. Got me the first time I saw her. Thought it was a regular person about to cross thw street or something. I do wonder what got her to where she is.

This is why you never burn bridges. In my early years before I started working for that telecom company that I was in and out of jobs and I could have easily been homeless but my mom and my sisters and my cousins took me in here and there. A lot of people sometimes burn Bridge is so bad that they have nowhere to turn to but the streets when they hit a hard situation. I don’t care how much money you make you can’t turn your back on people because you never know what could happen to you in the future.

she is a regular person.

While MANY have mental issues that's a whole other thread topic most just fell behind on a few bills.

It's crazy but an illness to you or family, an injury, bad/no insurance or union? A bad judgemental? A divorce?

Add bad financial advice, pride and cultural/societal pressures.

You would be shocked just how many people on bgol are really close to being homeless too. God forbid.

Bro that sh*t was actually the best experience for a young me. To see people who were younger same age and older all homeless

And they were NOT all dumb crazy lazy druggies.

Many are just every day people

I respect property owners but some are f*cked up and heartless. Owing money is the worst. And we as black people especially need to stop blaming EACH OTHER. I seen abused women with kids homeless because the father starting drinking or gambling or cheating. I seen dudes living in shelters hand washing dress shirts to go to work in the city because their wife took the house car kids plus child support and alimony.

You would NEVER know

Let's not bring up just how many homeless and hungry kids there are in public schools right now.

The thirst in those comments is pathetic. Thirsting after a homeless white woman with a flat wide ass.
Yeah, her ass is not even that spectacular. If she wasn’t homeless she would be a damn Karen….Hell she probably still is a Karen

Shit like this should always serve as a reality check for the rest of us that are comfortably living life.
1. Life is what you make of it.
2. Your current condition can change in a blink of an eye.
3. Do good things in life so you can be given a chance when things turn against you.
4. Don't be condescending about others misery.
5. You must save for rainy days. Don't spend it all when you have it.

The problem is telling who's really homeless due to life challenges and want a change or those who don't care to change their fate because they make a decent living parading themselves as homeless or drug addicts who are beyond saving.

My mantara is
“Always one fuck up away from being FUCKED up”

We got to keep running, just to stay in place :(

These two statements could be compressed together tightly.

Man I look at my kids and younger siblings and see it.
I often reflect on my younger think about the ruts I climbed outta.

The sad part is when we’re forced to deal with a hand that’s dealt to us.

Self indicted is one thing but the above is tough for no reason
