As a biologist, I find this fascinating. This chimp is checking her eye lashes for lice, her nostrils for worms (check out "turning sickness" in apes). He's checking her skin (especially the folds) for staph infections. Smelled her mouth for gingivitis (indicator of tooth decay). Checked the sclera of her eyes (jaundice is a sign of malnutrition). Checked her nails for fungi. To me, this seems very intentional and borders on medical.
