Yes, it was worse than Andrew. Ian was much bigger, and its storm surge was catastrophic. Also, I went through Andrew when I was living in Miami in 1992….we got hit pretty good in Northwest Dade, but we sort of got saved when the storm dip South a little bit at the last minute. FYI, I graduated from Miami Northwestern and I lived in the pork n beans (12th ave & 62nd ST) That should tell you all you need to know. This shit was not worse than Andrew

Well pay my people a decent wage then.
Fuck poverty wages breh
We're in agreement. That is his whole point fam- that many immigrants WILL come in and work for those "poverty wages" when many in the black community will (rightly so) refuse. Immigrants will often do the work a much lower rate, even with forced overtime/no overtime pay, no vacation or sick time, certainly no health benefits and often the employer will pay cash so they don't pay taxes on employee wages- not to mention some of the working conditions that most sane or non-desperate people would refuse to work in.
That's the kind of work (at those kind of rates with those other fucked up working conditions) that people mean when they say immigrants will do the work no one else wants to do or when they speculate that (insert other minority group here) folks aren't losing many jobs to immigrants.
So, the rich folk said illegal immigrants are ok......unless they come to my city. Martha's Vineyard deployed the National Guard in less than 36 hours to remove all of the illegal immigrants that were dropped off. Lol!!!
The hypocrisy is unbelievable.
Where would they live in bordertowns of Texas or some shore of Florida?Where would they live in Martha's Vinyard?
Well in Florida they have facilities for immigrantsWhere would they live in bordertowns of Texas or some shore of Florida?
These are supposed to be sanctuary cities. Yet, they keep shipping them away.
These mfs coming here wearing Jordan's with a mouth full of gold and I'm supposed to feel sorry for them when my people still catching hell?
Naw. I ain't gon be able to do it.
Those are full.Well in Florida they have facilities for immigrants
Biden will help them without holding it over his head, because that's what a president is supposed to do.This nutjob is always talking shit about the Federal Government and that he/Florida doesn’t need the Federal Government.
Then SHTF and he begging for that “Gumment Money”
DeSantis seeks federal aid for Fort Lauderdale flood victims

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis asked the Biden administration on Saturday to declare Broward County a disaster area due to flooding earlier this month after record rainfall.
If granted, the declaration would make Broward residents who incurred damage to their homes and other property eligible for a wide range of loans and other assistance. Local governments would also be eligible.
More than 2 feet (0.6 meters) of rain fell in some parts of the county April 12. The 1-in-a-1,000-year deluge left some parts of the county with up to 3 feet (0.9 meters) of water. About 1,000 homes were severely damaged, according to the state.
The flooding also closed the airport for almost two days. Gas deliveries to the port were also slowed, causing long lines at the pump.
The Republican governor is expected to soon announce that he will seek his party's nomination to challenge President Joe Biden in next year's election.
While frequently sniping at each other, the Democratic president and the governor have seen their administrations work together after disasters. That includes last year's Hurricane Ian, which killed more than 140 people and left thousands homeless, and the 2021 collapse of a condo tower in Surfside, which killed 98.
