Tomboy vs Girlie Girl

Which were you growing up and what are you now???

If i had to choose i think a cross between both would be the best. Tomboys are more down to earth and are usually more fun. On the other hand I like women who look act and dress like women

Fellas which are you more attracted to and why???

Girlie girls. But i don't like the materialist , b.e.t. watching, youtube, myspace ass shaking, mall rat / hood rat type.

Just the type of chick that dresses nice but doesn't mind putting on some sweats once or twice a week to be active or have some type of hobby.

no i just randomly clicked on a thread and posted what ever i pleased.

I prefer a women that's feminine but isn't into western material culture and actually have things that she's interested in that has substance and meaning. i.e. sometype of constructive art : music, dance, painting, sculpture, gardening, cooking, etc...

I do not like tomboyish women at all. I'm not interested in running a game of full court basketball with her.

I've always said that, I like down ass chics but at the same time jeez i went to college if i wanted to date somebody i could run up the block with i would just hang out with dudes

I like women because they aren't like me they don't act like me they don't want to dress like me or be me plus why the heck you wanna hide that sexy body all under baggy clothes

I love women who know hiphop and can watch some football but at the same time i like women being feminine pretty delicate smell nice makeup is nice 3inch high heels dresses skirts being able to do all that and switch to tank top and jeans and just hang is the best.

I am both-I like to play fight and wrestle especially w/ my sons and my dude....When I was younger it was w/ my brothers...They use to call me Ellie Mae. I ran track and would dust the boys and be like at the finish line..lololol
But I have always liked make up, pretty clothes and perfume. I dont like sitting in beauty shops, but like for my hair to be done. I love for my nails and feet to be soft and manicured or pedicured....So yep I am both

I don't do make up- at MOST lip gloss and fingernail polish. And it's been a good ten years since I've touched polish

I'll watch, play, score some football with you- just don't ask me crap about basketball or baseball

I have an unnatural obsession with shoes of all kinds but I hate purses

I JUST got into the habit of wanting to buy a dress or a skirt...and then I still have the attraction to wear it with some Tims

I LOVE to take a 'girly' outfit and make it rugged. Not masculine but a little more comfortable


I say I's be a tomboy cause if I was in a club with a bunch of chicks all I'd have to say is pick the odd one out and you'd come running to me. But I can get girly...if I wanna

I didn't own my first pair of jeans until high school...and, even then, I didn't really know how they were supposed to "fit" because I never had a pair before then...

I love wearing dresses and earrings, and love, love, LOVE big purses and sweet perfumes and putting my makeup on for a special occasion...

I dislike, though, being called prissy...I don't think I'm SO girly that I am prissy, but my best friend in N.O. thinks I am...

but then as i got into high school i became caught between tomboy & girly ..

never was a girly girl .. i enjoy dresses and skirts... LOVE some shoes & purses.. but I am simple with makeup ..

I like a combo... maybe 60-40 girlie girl. I want my girl to be able to rock a fly dress and heels one day, and some jeans and some hot Air Max the next. I don't want her to be so girlie that she can't get her hands dirty, or be so tomboyish that she can't wear a skirt. Versatility is so sexy.

Well, rugged...

one of my favorite outfits in college was my child Link t-shirt with some wide-legged dress slacks and some high heels with a bracelet.


But real rugged for me is like something that is kinda masculine or not girlish, and adding it with something that is, like the dress and Tim boots. Or some dress shoes with some sweats. Or something crazy like that. My style is way off the charts, (mainly because my shoes dictate the outfit). If you find that clothes thread that's around here somewhere some of the outfits I created on polyvore are not very typical, and they are still too girly for my taste.

From my puberty through my early 20's I was more attracted to Tomboys. There was just the fact that we could be cool and kick it with them and "be a guy" without having to worry about making her sick.

I guess it was also compounded by the fact that "girlie girls" were this high maintenance complex animal and I quite hadn't figured out how to interact with.

Kind of like a Ford F-150 vs Ferrari ... I know I can take a F-150 anywhere, it won't really complain, inexpensive to maintain, and it if breaks down I know how to work on it and fix it.

But I guess around my mid-20's things started change. I started finding girlie girls more attractive - I began to understand how to interact and understand them. Surprisingly 9/10 they were often LESS complex than I had envisioned. These were the girls I'd see in the Gramercy Park fashion district. I guess the walk, talk, and style of dress - what they did, where they went ... it all contributed to my sense of not being able to meet their standard.
