I would tell him to go niw while young. Being a black male in medicine has alot of perks if finessed properly. I would go the FNP route because it is the broadest and there are many jibs. Acute care NP is popping too...but u gotta be in the hospital all the time. CRNA if he is smart...like MD-smart

Thx. CRNA was the plan but he needs a year of ICU and nobody wants a new grad in ICU. My wife is a RN and has pull and still couldn't get him in. He's working Med Surg now. He's going for Acute Care. He says he wants to be in the hospital. His boy at work is a DNP and is trying to talk him into that but he can't see it. He would have went the MD route if he wanted to go to school that long so he says. He's super book smart.

Most ICUs have new grad programs...i went straight to ICU from nursing school...only unit i ever worked besides ER
