My stance is that both Democrats and Republicans are racist. Neither support Black empowerment. We have given our full support to Democratic candidates without demanding anything in return for multiple decades with poor results. Where we disagree is that I say we need to demand that candidates clearly support our issues prior to voting for them. You seem to feel that we should continue to vote for Democratic candidates regardless of if they support our issues because they aren’t as bad as the Republican candidate.
I am not a Trump supporter and never voted for him. I do believe that many of you are overreacting to what he has done because of propaganda. You complain about DOGE cuts without knowing the benefits of the programs being cut. You complain about the Department of Education cuts without truly evaluating the quality of public education in the US, what is in the curriculum, and what alternatives are being proposed. You complain about “DEI programs” being cut but don’t know the impact of the cut DEI programs, or even which address Black folks. You complain about “Black History” not being taught in Public School but don’t know what is taught for Black History. Personally, I don’t like how Black History is taught in school and teach my kids our history myself. The same brothers complaining about Trump and Elon daily were silent as Biden ignored Reparations throughout his 4 year term. They were silent when he declared LBGTQ as his priority a month after pandering to Black folks for months.
Again, I am calling for us as Black folks to focus on Black folks. Use this Trump term to demand that Democrats address our issues to get our votes.
