You know what some people of color who are not black actually feel the same way and then when they get caught up in the web, they look crazy and try to reach back out to Black people for help. Let the Government stay shut down until Jan 3, 2025.

January 3, 2025 is when the House/Senate come back after Christmas/NYE recess.

The GOP will control both chambers of Congress at that date.

They are already starting buzz about making Elon Musk Speaker of the House. When they start voting on Jan 3, it will be another mess like back in 2021 when Rep. McCarthy fought to be Speaker.

The Democrats should hold out which is the smart thing to do. The GOP will blame the Democrats, but while they blame them, the clock ticks down to Jan 3, 2025 putting the pressure all on the GOP.

No, the Democrats are doing the right thing. You see even the spinning bill the Republicans put forth a few minutes ago failed because enough Republicans did not vote for it. Republicans are between a rock and a hard place right now because some of the things they want to cut affect their voters.

As in the past. when shut downs happen, the GOP will scream bloody murder blaming the Democrats and the Dems always chicken out and give in and allow just enough votes to pass…..at the sacrifice of cuts to Social Safety Net programs and other stuff that benefits every day working Americans.

It happened under Clinton and Obama.

But….Biden played Chess with it. He got the Government funded back in 2021 and to expire now in December 2024. It’s why we never heard anything about Debt ceiling or Government shutdown during his administration.

Gotta give the “Old, Senile and InCompetent” bastard credit.

I can't even imagine that it generates that much money. In either case, I'm sure that if the US did take it back, it would immediately become a money pit for some "unforeseen reason".
