Well, you all voted for him. Stupid games yeild stupid prizes.

President Donald Trump's administration is offering federal workers the chance to take a "deferred resignation," which would mean they agree now to resign but get paid through September.

A senior administration official told NBC News that they expect 5%-10% of the federal workforce to quit, which, they estimate, could lead to around $100 billion in savings.

They'd be stupid to accept this. There's no budget to pay people to not show up. Secondly, if they do this, they'll jeopardize their pensions & retirement, because they "resigned". And thirdly, there's a 99% chance they will be stiffed.

Unless you were close to retiring anyway.

Like if you were planning on retiring at the end of the year but instead just took that now and retired early with your retirement benefits and pension.

Or if you were planning on retiring in the early part of this year you could accept that deal and get a few extra months of payments that you wouldn't have gotten.

But as you said it would depend on whether it could fuck up your retirement and pension.

I hear you, but, fam, they won't see a penny of that money. Let's say he authorizes or asks Congress to approve this. We all KNOW in our heart of hearts, he'd kill that shit. The first week is starting to make sense now, isn't it? He killed fed morale across the board and made their workplace a living hell. Knowing, or hoping, they'd be sick of the chaos, he offers this "sweetheart" deal, hoping people would say, "Fuck it! I'm out! I'll take it!", only to be fucked on the back end.

No doubt.

And Trump is literally known for not paying anyone and getting away with it.

But anyone who took that deal would be a idiot anyway since they'd still be able to claim unemployment for close to six months (in most states I believe) which wouldn't be an option if they resigned.

:lol:they would become suckers

congress is the only entity that can authorise any part of that offer

they would have to ok full retirement benefits for any worker that retires before 20yrs

I hear you but we can't underestimate the stupidity of someone if these people which has been on full display since he's taken office.

The internet and TV have multiple stories of Latino Trump voters being shocked that they're loved ones are being deported despite the fact that he regularly and brazenly told them he was going to do it his first day in office.

Unless you were in some IT field, federal employment is dead. You might be able to get state or local level jobs. With all these federal employees rushing into the private sector to get employment that is remote, it won't work for many of you.

It is this old employees still working but eligible for retirement that need to go.

One of the ways to make the government less effective with enforcing the law is to cripple the number of people. I might lose my surveillance detail due to manpower issues.
