Attorney says ICE agents left 18-year-old, younger children behind after arresting mother
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A metro attorney says some undocumented immigrants are getting arrested despite having no criminal history.
Channel 2 Gwinnett County Bureau Chief Matt Johnson learned that one of the people in custody is a single mother with no criminal history, according to immigration attorney Giovanna Holden, who personally tried to stop her client’s arrest in Athens on Sunday.
On Sunday, holden watched as her client’s 18-year-old daughter and two other children were left behind.
“The officers kept saying that they get an email, they get a text message with a name, a location, and that’s where they go,” Holden said.
Holden said her client had been in the US for six years and regularly checked in with ICE.
Folks tend to forget that entering the US illegally is a crime. You don't have to commit additional crimes to get deported. A woman was set on fire as she slept on a train in NYC. Her killer sat there and watched as his victim was engulfed in flames. The killer is an illegal that had already been deported and sneaked back into the US.
Fact remains there is a screening process for folks to be allowed to enter the US. That process weeds out the mentally and physically weak or sick. As well as providing services for and keeping track of immigrants. The 18 year old and the children need to worry about the ICE coming for them after Trump changes laws concerning birth rights and citizenship.
