I agree..The season finale was predictable!!...
But I couldn't turn away for a minute
I feel like SOMEBODY in the main cast needed to die or take more serious damage

I'm sure when they decide to have the last season, they'll start having a kill fest like most shows. But I couldn't turn away for a minute

If she retires, then we might get a chance to see her ass more often lolI was thinking the exact same thing
But then Zoe's ass smacked that thought right out my head.

this show is like Industry... The title is broad enough that its not tied to any one character AND we've seen the character arc of the main character/s. The show is called Special Ops: Lioness....not Special Ops: Joe McNamara! So the show SHOULD be able to run without that character OR Joe in another capacity not on the front line doing ops. Thats what we've seen for the last 2 seasons how her job is wearing on her, not in just in her personal life but on her mental health. ALL of them quite frankly....theres no way one can be well adjusted doing that shit day in day out.I was thinking the exact same thing

Season 3 SHOULD see Jo retired from Station Chief of the Lioness program training Cruz Manuelos to take over the missions and trying to adjust to semi-civilian life. Which could be interesting to watch because as much as her husband and kids want her not be away so much, they have gotten used to life without her being around weeks and months at a time and her constant presence now is disruptive to the routines theyve adjusted to because of constant absence. Theyve learned to live day to day without her. And now she's back trying to be a mother and theyre all like WTF? If they do it right they could also use it as a source of a tension breaker. Joe can expertly maneuver her way thru life and death situations but has great difficulty figuring out how to navigate and interact with members of her local PTA.
If they really wanna push it..that could be a dramedy spinoff for Zoe Saldana and the actors who play her family....sort of a Lioness-verse if you will. Every so often she has to go back to the Thriller show to assist in something or those characters make a cameo and come to her show for some reason.
Could you imagine Two Cups, Tucker or Bobby on R&R visiting Joe's family and advertently end up babysitting her daughters. They get to see they life they past on or couldnt have and that hurts them in some ways...

But after dealing with all the BULLSHIT that comes with family life...then see them HAPPY to get back to the blood and guts of black ops!![]()

Is this a must-watch or just some distracting weak sauce with eye candy?
Depends, do you hate strong female leads and gays in tv shows? Is this a must-watch or just some distracting weak sauce with eye candy?

I like Zoe. I liked her in Colombiana, unlike a lot of folks.
The question is: how good is the writing? If its just some standard procedural "cop/military show", then I'm probably not going to be interested.
Gay people are pretty much in every show.
If its man-on-man sex, then no, I'm not interested.
I have not seen Jack Ryan but I will check the first couple of episodes of season one of Lioness.
It's a good show, if you have seen Jack Ryan on Amazon it has that type of vibe but with more action.

Zoe Saldaña Leads CIA Anti-Terror Mission in ‘Special Ops: Lioness’ Trailer
Paramount+ has set a July 23 premiere date for the espionage thriller from Taylor Sheridan that also stars Laysla De Oliveira, Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman.www.hollywoodreporter.com

Have you heard of this series from the past year or so? My dad really liked it. I have seen 3 eps and need to circle back for the rest.
I trained with a few of them in England. I was not ready. These MFS are some of the craziest people I have ever met. In life. It is so cold outside, and these mfs are warming up in shorts and t-shirts?!! It was so cold I almost quit right there. They look at me and ask if I want a cup of joe, mate. No, motherfucker I don't want coffee or anything else except my warm bed, you shepherds pie-eating motherfucker!
Most of the ones I went into combat with couldn't even hump a 70lb rucksack. Hollywood is funny. A scrawny woman is going to save me? What is this? Bizarro World?
Lioness
Season One
8 Episodes
Started the 2nd season last night and finished up this morning at home.
Taylor Sheridan debuted as a Delta Force Operator working with Zoe’s HRT.
We got to see Zoe’s naked body from the rear, and in a sex scene, just enough to satisfy the Thirsty.
A new Lioness is recruited.
This season went more in-depth with international politics/U.S. politics than what the first season did. The series takes place prior to the 2024 election. Some of the shit they bring it up and with the Orange Moron about to get back into the White House, it gets you thinking on how this country is going to go thru some wild shit in coming years. Morgan Freeman dropped some knowledge on what is going on currently in this country and how stupid/ignorant Americans are spending their time focused on shit that doesn’t affect them directly.
Got a little bit of Lesbian action between two Latina women.
Zoe’s character went thru some drama with the pressure of the job affecting her personal life/family. It’s up in the air whether she continues with the Lioness project going forward. I suspect she may retire at some point in season 3 and be replaced with another actress to continue series for a 5 season run.
We will wait and see…
Man, ask any QRF if they wanted women in the field or as the primary thrust, and the answer is unanimously NO! If I need help, who am I calling first? A woman?

Make no mistake...this is Zoe's show. When she's done, the show is done, IMO.
Just watched the season finale and went through and read a few of the comments. I cant remember where I read it (maybe youtube) and there was someone that said that Taylor Sheridan doesn't know how to write women characters. I'm not sure if thats true overall because I haven't watched his shows, but I do have an issue with Zoe's character seemingly screaming all the time. Like I don't know about other vets on the board, but I see never saw women officers or NCOs, yelling all the time. Prime examples is when she was at the airport dressing down that captain, I'm like yoooo stfu..all that aint even necessary. Like Nicole Kidman's character is how a lot of them act, just about business and not raising their voice but knowing that they are the ones in charge. I don't know...i like the series but I've always found that odd because it seems like that she's about to have a psychotic break at any minute.
Taylor Sheridan is just going to put himself in all of his shows now. I guess he's going to be like Tyler Perry. Doing the writing and the acting...lol
One more thing I've noticed is these little soliloquys that he has different characters do. When I watched the wire and these speeches would come up, I wouldn't know who was speaking and it appeared to be on brand of the story. Because I've been watching Taylor Sheridan's shows and I see that he appears to be the only writer, I feel like he's putting in his personal viewpoint on the situation and it may not be applicable at the present time. I'm probably being nitpicky and I think the writing is good and the shows are good, but those are just a few observations.
I did that with SWAT (Shemar Moore) I was like ok.My pops worked 33 - 34 years for the fire department.
He always gets a kick out of the assorted fire and rescue shows, especially when they cast the beautiful & petite female firefighters.
He records those shows to skim over as pure comedy, and tells me about them later like "GTFOH", lol.
