Ryan Murphy has already wheeled you through the halls of Nurse Ratched’s inner workings. Now, in his new series, the American Horror Story creator is escorting you somewhere even more terrifying: Jeffrey Dahmer’s Milwaukee apartment. According to Variety, Murphy and producer Ian Brennan will be bringing Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story to Netflix in the form of a ten-episode limited series.

Unlike previous works about the serial killer, like Dahmer and My Friend Dahmer, Monster will focus less on the titular cannibal, rapist and murderer himself, and more on the “police incompetence and apathy” that enabled Dahmer to pray on mostly young men and boys of color for over a decade.
Told from the perspective of his victims, the show will depict “least 10 instances where Dahmer was let go after being apprehended,” huge failures by law enforcement the show will explore through the lens of white privilege, racism, and homophobia. In 1992, Dahmer was sentenced to 15 life sentences for fifteen murders, with a separate life sentence added for another murder later that same year.

Richard Jenkins is reportedly set to co-star as Dahmer’s father Lionel, Carl Franklin will co-direct, and Janet Mock will write and co-direct the show, with production, at least as of right now, scheduled to begin in January.

These cops knew Dahmer that's the only way he could have gotten away with this for a decade, ain't no telling how many people he actually murdered.
Shit the bigger story is he might have spun America most wanted John Walsh career.. story is Dahmer might actually have killed his son... he actually got questioned about it in an interview but denied it, but later on told the interviewer off record there’s no way he could tell him yes due to the repercussions he could face if he admitted it.. that’s a story hardly told.. which means he possibly got even more bodies on his hands

Watching it now, I had kind of forgot about it. I was in my early 20's when this happened. Dude playing Dahmer is doing one hell of a job. Cops could have put a stop to this but they didn't do shit... :smh:

Why?......He Is LGBTQ and He Killed Men Who Were in His LGBTQ Community
I'm assuming they don't want the association, but the show has plenty of gay folks that were decent people going about their lives. The Silenced episode was tough. They created an episode that makes the viewer feel for the dude Tony Hughes. He just wanted to live a normal life, and his family seemed really nice, and his friends were positive people.

Yeah I had didn't know anything about him until I seen that episode. I thought this series was well done, not just focusing on Dahmer but focusing on the victims and how pathetic the police and judicial system is.

Dahmer is in the top ten worst serial killers. John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy, Dennis Radar, David Berkowitz and Gary Ridgeway.

Dahmer knew he could’ve gotten away with killing black males. He knew his white skin would shield him from police.

Cops were 100% complicit with their reckless policing. A liquor store would lose its license if an employee just took the word of a "friend" concerning the age limit to purchase alcohol. These cops sent a kid to his death because they were more concerned about getting gay on them than protecting and serving.

Serial killing is whites nature. It’s no mental illness thing it’s pure evil. Those lunching of blacks and castrations isn’t a coincidence.

The judge at his first trial gave him a bunch of leeway all because he was white and the victim was a non-white. Judge is also implicit in the doings of Dahmer. They lock black folks up for less and throw the key away.

Dahmer production assistant calls it 'one of the worst shows' she's worked on as a person of color

"The trailer itself gave me PTSD."
By Emlyn TravisOctober 01, 2022 at 05:40 PM EDT

Since its release on Sept. 21, Ryan Murphy's Dahmer series has drawn backlash from both viewers and families of the victims. Now, a production assistant on the show is opening up about her negative experience on set.
Last month, Kim Alsup tweeted that she was "treated horribly" while filming Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which stars Evan Peters as the convicted serial killer, who violently murdered 17 men and boys from 1978 to 1991. She also said she was often mistaken for another colleague.
"I worked on this project and I was 1 of 2 Black people on the crew and they kept calling me her name," she wrote. "We both had braids. She was dark skin and 5'10. I'm 5'5. Working on this took everything I had as I was treated horribly. I look at the Black female lead differently now too." (Alsup has since made her Twitter account private.)

Alsup recently said she has yet to watch the show because of the awful memories she has attached to it. "I don't want to have these PTSD types of situations," she told the Los Angeles Times in a new interview. "The trailer itself gave me PTSD, which is why I ended up writing that tweet and I didn't think that anybody was going to read."
Slamming the series as "one of the worst shows" she's ever worked on as a person of color, Alsup also alleged that there were no mental health coordinators available on set. She added, "I was always being called someone else's name, the only other Black girl who looked nothing like me, and I learned the names for 300 background extras."
Alsup noted that workplace conditions did get better while filming the show's sixth episode, which was written by Janet Mock and directed by Paris Barclay, who are both people of color. However, Alsup said that, overall, she found the experience "exhausting."

Alsup and representatives for Netflix did not immediately respond to EW's requests for comment.

Alsup is not the only one who has condemned the adaptation. In an essay for Insider, Rita Isbell — who is the sister of Errol Lindsey, one of Dahmer's victims — wrote that she was "never contacted about the show" before its release, even though it recreates her emotional 1992 victim impact statement to Dahmer in one episode.
Viewers have also criticized Netflix's decision to tag Dahmer as an LGBTQ series on the streaming service, with one fan saying it was "not the representation we're looking for." The tag has since been removed.

I could only watch a few episodes of this shit. First off it was gay as hell. Plus if you lived in Milwaukee during that time, just brings back bad memories. A lot of stories with a lot of people my age or older that remember seeing him around. I remember going to the candy store at the chocolate factory where he worked every week. Shit freaked me out thinking he put something in that chocolate. Those big blue drums they took out his house, one of the victims relatives and her famous snap out in court, all that shit. I was 11 or 12 when this happened....damn near forgot about it. This movie just brings back bullshit memories, especially for family member's of all his victims.

also reminds me of the guy who got beat to death with Dahmer in jail. Some pussy ass cac that killed his wife in a restaurant parking lot then tried to blame it on a black guy. That shit shook up the city too. Both them dudes got what they deserved.
