Finished Paradise season 1 yesterday evening. Really enjoyed the show (watched it over the course of the past 3 weeks or so).

Episode 7 is definitely the standout, as fellow viewers & critics have said. Look for that particular episode to garner some Emmy and / or Golden Globe nomination(s).

The finale in ep. 8 was pretty good, though it felt condensed or abbreviated. Some of that storyline arc or information would have been better served being introduced earlier in the season in my opinion.

Props to the cast and crew. Also, credit to the music coordinator(s). That theme or backing music has been stuck in my head in recent weeks, as have the variations or covers of recognizable songs from over the years. Great use of a song from 1988 in episode 4 in particular.

Brancato wrote or was story editor for several episodes of the 1992 season of Beverly Hills, 90210. He co-wrote the X-Files episode ”Eve“, which first aired on December 10, 1993.[3] Brancato created and wrote Space Channel's First Wave, which aired from 1998 to 2001,[1] and also wrote the 1998 film Species II.[1]

Brancato wrote the 1997 film Hoodlum set in crime-ridden 1930s New York City.

Brancato was executive producer of the 2002 film Stealing Harvard.[4] Brancato was also a writer/producer for the critically acclaimed 2002–2003 television series Boomtown.

Brancato wrote two episodes during season 12 of the long-running NBC legal drama, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, titled "Branded" and "Spectacle". Brancato moved on to be executive producer/show runner/head writer for the tenth season of the USA Network police-procedural Law & Order: Criminal Intent, a show that is related to Law & Order: SVU.[5] Brancato did a police-procedural pilot for NBC titled Blue Tilt, where he was creator/executive producer with Vincent D'Onofrio (Law & Order: Criminal Intent) and Ethan Hawke, who were also set to star in the project as well.[6] On May 11, 2012, NBC decided not to bring it, and other pilots, to series.[7] He created the Netflix series Narcos and Narcos: Mexico[8] with Carlo Bernard and Doug Miro.

After going through several iterations, Brancato is credited as a co-screenwriter for third Sherlock Holmes film along with Joel Silver, Susan Downey and Lionel Wigram returning as producers, and Village Roadshow returning as co-producer. Warner Bros. have confirmed the third film will include Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law. The film had an expected release date December 22, 2021[9] but is currently undated.[10]

Brancato is the screenwriter, executive producer, writer, and creator of the EPIX series Godfather of Harlem starring Forest Whitaker.

I still have no clue who this Kevin jabroni is.

Quinta doesn't have time for some random nobody. She's looking for a BGOL fam' member next.

This series debuted a year ago on Netflix and I finally got around to finishing it tonight on the road.

I saw that it was trending high on Netflix when it debuted and saw later it got a bunch of nominations and awards. I knew a few people who had seen it and highly recommended it.

Since I’m probably the last person on the forum who has seen it, I’m not gonna go into it….but I will point out something for those who haven’t seen it and may be interested…

For the Gay Agenda trackers. There is LGBT stuff in the series. Episode 4 has the most dealing with male rape of the main character. Things are shown but it isn’t graphic. You can see more graphic LGBT stuff on HBOs “Game of Thrones”. There is also a female Trans supporting character that the main character gets involved with. Nothing graphic sexual is shown between them. The interactions the main character has with LGBT is connected with his relationship with the stalker. For Episode 4, if you are uncomfortable in watching it, I suggest reading a recap of the episode.

For the Thirsty, the stalker Martha is a BBW. Nothing is shown and she is fully covered up thruout the series. There are plenty of scenes showing how big her DDD boobs in clothing and there are plenty of scenes showing her profile with her cartoonish full size booty. There is a photoshopped picture shown of her in bra/panties.

The series is mainly a dark comedy and plays out like a psychological character drama, mainly focused on the main character. The actress who plays Martha does an outstanding depiction of the character. Besides her acting, her facial expressions help make the character believable. She is a female version of Jim Carrey.

I looked into it and the series is based on actual events in the series creators life. He also plays the main character. Netflix has no plans on continuing the story, but the last scene did leave it open for a 2nd season or film.

It’s not a series for everyone. If you are comfortable with your sexuality and can watch mature content like an adult and not like a teenager, you should find it interesting.
