TV Trailer: Tokyo Vice - Michael Mann directed the first episode of the new HBO Max series starring Ken Watanabe.

they fucked it up adding the white boy. concept was dope before that. now it's going to be some last samurai bullshit. would have watched it if it was all japanese, some nudity, and cool action scenes with subtitles.

Always some out of place white person. I’ll watch it cuz of watanabe but wtf is a white reporter doing in Tokyo in 2022 in anything dangerous or important.
You didn't know? White people interject themselves any and everywhere like lgbtq motherfukers. If they don't see themselves in a space, and they can't force their way into a space that space won't be a space for long

Am I wrong?

I gotta say, 3 episodes in this show is great. As someone who has been living in Japan since around the time this story takes place, Michael Mann and company did a good job putting the spotlight on a lot of the right aspects of Japanese life (especially as seen by someone from another country). Where they decided to point their camera feels very authentic.

Trailer looks wack. Michael Mann usually shows more exciting angles.
Close up of wheels and shit.
70mm - 135mm lenses.
Or am I bugging and that aint Mann?

They made damn sure to make him sing!

I wonder how all this #metoo situation will effect a second season
