Mussolini’s Blackshirts March on Rome Seizing Total Control

"Today on October 28, 1922, Benito Mussolini’s Blackshirts infamously March on Rome, seizing total control over the Italian government.

The March on Rome marked the beginning of Fascist rule over Italy, ending all social-liberal parliamentary regimes. Benito Mussolini was the founding member and leader of the Fascist Party in Italy. With an abundance of personality and charisma, he was capable of captivating massive crowds and attracting large swaths of loyal followers. The end of World War I resulted in unfavorable peace treaties for both Germany and Italy, leaving widespread discontent across the population and a fragile political environment. The government was ripe for the taking. On October 24, the fascist party leaders planned to March on Rome and seize power from the liberal regime. Nearly a decade later, Hitler too would rise to power in Germany on the basis of popular unrest.

On the morning of October 28, over 30,000 militia known as the Blackshirts marched on the capital city. Different groups simultaneously captured strategic locations throughout Italy. Prime Minister Luigi Facta immediately ordered a state of siege for Rome, which would have granted him access to the army. However, King Victor Emmanuel III of Italy refused to sign the order. The King refused his request for fear of losing his own throne to the invading fascists if he did not capitulate. His decision to side with Mussolini likely prevented Italy from breaking out into a civil war.

The next day, King Emmanuel asked Mussolini to form a government, making him the youngest Prime Minister in Italian history at the time. Two days later, Mussolini arrived in Rome and held a triumphant parade across the city. He quickly transitioned into a totalitarian dictator and ruled over the country for another two decades until the end of World War II. As the Allies systemically bombed and captured Italy, Mussolini was forced to run for his life. He was eventually captured by his own people and executed by firing squad. His mutilated corpse was publicly displayed near a train station in Milan."

Yup his base will never leave him especially after today. A lot of them have been waiting for this ruling for decades.

Republicans for decades have exploited the evangelical Christians votes just to win elections. But most of them bullshit and don’t deliver. They just use them for tax cuts for there donor class.

But trump kept his promise so they will forever be loyal to him does not matter what he does at this point.

Brown vs Board of Ed. is next on the list.

I'm really curious to know, how you feel the Court plans to impact laws surrounding segregation in schools? Seriously, I'd like to understand what you're expecting, as BvB deemed segregation in schools unconstitutional.

It got overturned cause a Republican president got the opportunity to appoint THREE Supreme Court justices.
Are we going to give RBG a pass for not taking it to the house when she should have or Obama putting a conservative Merrick Garland as a nominee? I'm just asking.

Corporate America reacts to Supreme Court abortion decision

The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade on Friday has generated a swift reaction from a number of major US companies.
America’s largest bank by market capitalization, JPMorgan Chase (JPM), was one of the first to advise employees on the decision. According to a memo viewed by CNBC, company management told employees that it will pay for travel to states that allow legal abortions.
Per reporting from Fox Business, Citi C quickly followed suit with a similar memo to employees. Most major banks are expected to react in a similar vein.
The statements from major banks adds to statements made by Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Lyft (LYFT), Uber Technologies (UBER), Microsoft (MSFT), Yelp (YELP), Salesforce (CRM), Starbucks (SBUX), and more that advised employees of travel assistance in the months leading up to the decision.
For example, Levi Strauss (LEVI) issued a statement following the leak of the expected decision that forecast travel benefits to be folded into healthcare coverage for employees.
“Under our current benefits plan, Levi Strauss & Co. employees are eligible for reimbursement for healthcare-related travel expenses for services not available in their home state, including those related to reproductive health care and abortion,” a statement in early May read. “There is also a process in place through which employees who are not in our benefits plan, including part-time hourly workers, can seek reimbursement for travel costs incurred under the same circumstances.”
Elsewhere, outgoing Meta Platforms (META) COO issued a statement excoriating the opinion authored by Justice Alito on her Facebook page.
"I cannot believe that I'm going to send my three daughters to college with fewer rights than I had," she wrote on her public social media page. "The Supreme Court's ruling jeopardizes the health and the lives of millions of girls and women across the country."
This is a developing story and more commentary will be added as a growing number of companies react to the landmark decision.

Good. Bitches got all the birth control in the world, the morning after pill, they know the times of the month when they can get pregnant and they still need legal abortion. In other words they need the ability to be fucking irresponsible.

You are seeing a Supreme Court that is saying that settled law is now not settled and can change. Do not be surprised if someone takes up Brown versus Board of Ed all the way to the Supreme Court and you get a change in the ruling.

It would be the kiss of death for those white schools, just imagine telling regular black student candidates they can’t be enrolled due to CAC BS but want the black football players to keep on coming

Nah I don't think Trump can win those January 6th hearings seem to be doing some damage.

They only doing damage for ppl who already Trump (which is alot btw). But his supporters are locked in for him in 2024.

Unless the Dems get a new candidate to run against Trump in the next election, I fear he'll be right back in office. Biden ain't it and these white folks ain't voting for another blk president any time soon (Kamala Harris).

Dems could do something to even out the court.
Too chicken shit to take the action though.
Taking L after L.
I hold any and every lawmaker and public official accountable for what happens under their watch regardless of party. It's frustrating to me because I expected much more and they don't seem to get it and look weak as hell on every single issue that matters.
