RIP Bellator
They had some good fighters over there for a number of years.
Knew it was the beginning of the end once they were merged with PFL ... as PFL's schedule is so irregular, plus they probably didn't want to carry a number of those big contracts that Bellator had for a time.
Michael Chandler must have known the writing was on the wall (for Bellator) in getting out a handful of years back.
They sure did but Bellator like most UFCs competitors are not good at promoting their fighters or their shows. I never know when either is on.
PFL and ONE FC needs a The Ultimate Fighter type show to promote their fighters. Popular fighters fill seats and brings viewers.
Agreed - it's like the Morning Kombat guys were saying too ... you often to promote locally when you're in certain cities. I.E. - make yourselves available to guest on local radio, etc. As it's too niche if you're only doing MMA-based radio or podcasts.
Same for the MMA Roasted podcast. Comedian host & his co-hosts have included a number of active / retired fighters over the years. One of the running jokes is them being unaware of a Bellator event happening later that same week. "I guess they don't want us to watch ... they haven't promoted it much"
