I feel you. But there are so many factors at play. First your have to consider the school. Public vs. private. Another is the grade level such as high school versus college.

My daughters school doesn’t use their lockers anymore for security reasons. So it makes no sense for students to carry a bunch of books all day.

Most of their assignments are done digitally. They are on Canvas, blackboard, or some type of educational-based platform to submit work. They are usually sent to some third party website to complete assignments as well.

Most colleges have went digital. There are still physical books that can be picked up, but students don’t know what to do with them and teachers aren’t using them. All classrooms have projectors attached to a computer, so teachers can pull up PowerPoints or ebooks in class and teach that way. Or they can use iPads or other tablets to write notes.

Teaching traditionally is nearly obsolete. I TEACH traditionally, but I don’t grade and give test traditionally. I don’t give paper test anymore. Everything is online and graded for me. Students use all sorts of apps to give them answers and they see nothing wrote with it because it’s how they learned math all their life.

They don’t see the need to retain fact-based information because we have technology such as Google that can give them answers on the spot.

Man, I could go on and on about this stuff, but traditional teaching and using physical textbooks is a thing of the past. While I think a student learns better that way, so much of society has change and the educational system has to keep up with the technology or get left behind. The pandemic was that wake up call.

Can’t teach like this anymore??

Most people get caught getting greedy and buying big. Take what you can get, buy a used Kia Sportage, make payments, call it a day.

A lot of people make the mistake of thinking because they're not caught that they're not on to you, and the longer you go it increases the likelihood that they'll be on to you. Get out while they're getting is good
I read the scam, it was one of those bound to get caught moves. She was ringing up items over priced then returning them on a card.

Police came and just had to look who rang it up.

You can ask this question and the answer will tell you a lot about a person:

Would you rather have a million dollars and not be able to tell anybody anything about it or have $100,000 and be able to flash it for the gram and tell anyone you wanted?

Me? Give me the million. I'll have my whole damn house redone. I'm getting my bathroom redone right now so instead of getting a $3,500 steam shower I will probably get a $10,000 steam shower; redo all the carpets in my house, redo the electrical system, probably add a new power box, new Chandelier, new ceiling fans, new cabinets for the kitchen, repaint the walls in the foyer and everything

All that.

All that you got to be invited into my house to see and I ain't inviting everybody into my house

As a former elementary school teacher.... doing so is kinda "old-fashioned". I understand the VALUE of the PHYSICAL aspect of learning and teaching. They are both an art. I didnt realize the value of the vigorous college-level research assignments we had to do in high school. We had to leave class & walk to Rutgers university's library to find the books we needed & so on. There was no internet. We had to know how to read the card catalog in order to find the books. :dunno: :roflmao: thats a skill all by itself. Aint nobody got time for that now! :smh: The technology I WISH we had when I was a student teacher in the early 90's... Everything is being animated.... YOU can animate lesson plans. You can create research assignments for grade levels that you could do no such thing to. They know how to use the phones & tablets the day they get here.

Im a visual learner... all that traditional shit you talking about is & was boring as fuck! Lessons are in video format. Im posting vids about crypto with music playing in the backrgound. Im tricking people into learning.

On college campus.... books are being sold in digital format. The days of paying for huge txt books that are heavy as fuk because you have no choice are done! YOU want mufukka to listen to the music on a reel-to-reel or 8-track player.:roflmao: smfh

The average kid has a phone with just as much processing power as a laptop.
My graduate program is online! FUCK showing up in class.... post the video & the PDF's & I'll read them myself. I dnt NEED you to provide a lecture. I dnt need to be on campus, I dnt need to be on the same city. A lot of people dont.

KIDS are making millions with their phones... why would they want to sit ina class & play with building blocks?
FLIPSIDE is... I know a dude about 25/26... can't write his name in script. Has no clue. They NEVER taught him. Is it crippeling??? Yes & no... They don't sign checks like that anymore UNLESS you go to the check cashing spot.

the TYPE of teaching & lesson planning you are talking about is now being digitized & it will also become a valuable old fashioned skill set...POSSIBLY. cause look @ what AI has done to art & the writers profession in the last few months.

^^^^^

My brother from another I had the same debate going at a wedding...

If you won a million could you not tell anyone... even your spouse and kids?

I was SHOCKED how many said no and the REASONS behind the response. I think I even made a thread about it.

I have met alot of these people, many are special needs people who can't enter into a mutually beneficial relationship with other people. Just because they don't talk like an idiot doesn't mean something isn't wrong with them. I frequently deal with the more higher end people that work at these tech companies or they are in government.

A white women stole $130,000 from a Walmart store, facing 20 years.

Focused individual attention and increased self awareness will correct this behavior.

The details of this story sound a bit off. She stole $500K, but they've barely accounted for $100K, so where did all the rest of the money go. Furthermore, I heard that she was only charged with a single count of fraud over $1200, but they said that they caught her in 8 different fraudulent transactions. Most DAs would charge her with 8 separate counts, 1 for each transaction. At this rate, as a first time offender they're talking about her getting probation... for stealing half a million dollars. It's almost like an invitation to commit fraud in Massachusetts.
