It was this dude Dante Williams from Dante's Boxing Nation came up with it in 2015/2016. It was his war he waged against the boxing media and how was able to break through to get to fighters, trainers and promoters and break news without the gatekeeping of traditional, at that time, paper and TV media, namely ESPN/Ring Magazine etc.
Anyway, he supposedly copyrighted the term because other boxing heads started using it and he didn't want to be associated with those types of dudes but he moved to Thailand got married, changed his platform to Dantes Traveling Nation and I haven't checked for him in years.
They can't keep up the facade. Harris isn't perfect, but isn't really giving them anything they can use to create controversy. And despite trying to give Trump leeway, he absolutely is letting his crazy flag fly in ways that are too big to cover up.
Not to mention, I don't think they actually want Trump in office anymore than anyone else. It's just been profitable to talk about him up to this point. But even the media sees the handwriting on the wall, and they're basically saying, "Okay, time to stop fucking around. Let's go ahead and push the real narratives now." At least in this cycle, Trump has probably bled off enough support that he might actually lose the election.
And on a real note, this is, once again, a great argument for why election cycles should not be extended this far. People have basically spent months wringing their hands and arguing over petty points when the few big issues that will really matter can and will be covered much easier in a few weeks. I know the main driver is money, but it's still a little silly when you break it down.
