What has a lot of former Trump fans shook is what the Trump administration did to abortion. A lot of yall don't realize just how many suburban white women will get abortions and their tubes tied cause they don't want baby #4. A lot of suburban white women will bring in their 15 yr old daughter for an abortion and birth control.
Hearing how docs have to let you almost die before they can treat you has large areas like Texas shook to their core.
Abortion affects EVERYONE cause it's that common. An ob/gyn will ask how many times you been pregnant vs how many live births you've had. The amount of times women will change the pregnancy number when their husband leaves the room would make your head spin.
For a lot of BGOL they think abortions are only being done to ghetto Black women that have 4 baby daddies. Cause my wife is a doc I hear and know that the sweetest nicest white women that are BGOL's dream woman has had an abortion in college when she was having fun. Or that happily married white chick that was not fucking up her promotion at work. Or that teacher that was not gonna lose her seniority working in the burbs so she can't get pregnant outside of very specific months.
Let me add a little extra. I know I said in this post that abortion is a big deal but I forgot to mention that IVF is also a big deal to a lot of these women. I'm a Black Gen X man from NYC, in my experience alone I know three women who've used IVF to have kids. I know two women who have had abortions, both of them had abortions when they were married. So that means in just my circle of women I either know or hooked up with I know five people who abortion bans would affect personally if they did not live in nyc.
Agree and just to add to your point about IVF. I worked at probably the largest IVF clinic in the world for over a decade and a lot of women use those services. Every race! It’s still mostly white women, but over the last few years the number of women from other races has increased.
I said this way back when they started bringing up IVF and getting rid of that, Trump dialed back on that shit because IVF practices have BIG MONEY. Billion dollar industry and I know because I seen it with my own eyes for years. I worked some MDs (all obgyn that specialize in reproductive endocrinology ) and these cats were making dumb money. Owning their own planes, having a wine vineyard in VA, to living in expensive ass Georgetown in Washington DC.
So overall reproductive health is very important to a lot women. The whole ecosystem includes IVF, IUI (which Tim used with his wife), donor egg, and women doing cryopersevation.
Then you add in the money pharmaceutical companies make from fertility drugs? Yeah any clown that said they were touching IVF or reproductive health services was writing their own death sentence.
