Seriously. The irony is that if they would just be reasonable and/or pragmatic, Republicans could actually win over casual conservatives. But instead, they lean into hate speech and reactionary views so damn hard that people have no choice but to side against them.
They were never great, but they let their presidential candidate hold a Nazi rally in the middle of New York. You can't really spin any positive out of that.
