i guess you dont understand the conditions regarding the type of deal Gunna took?
He took what is called an "Alford Plea" deal. Which means, it is a guilty plea in criminal court, whereby a defendant in a criminal case does not admit to the criminal act and asserts but admits that the evidence presented by the prosecution would be likely to persuade a judge or jury to find the defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
It is an all or nothing deal, meaning he cannot choose to take the stand and then plead the fifth. Essentially, once you are on the stand, you are legally compelled to answer all questions asked of you by your attorney and the prosecution.

I undedrstand it fully...but the fact is most lawyers, like you, are not familiar with an Alford plea and have no understanding of the nuance that makes it such.

The above statement in quotes is true, but fails to mention the crucial part of the plea that makes it an Alford Plea, which is the fact that even though the defendant admits the evidence would likely lead to a conviction from a judge or jury, he is allowed, throughout the plea, to MAINTAIN HIS INNONENCE. These are extremely rare pleas. In any regular plea, during the plea, if the defendant gives even an inkling that he believes he is innocent, the judge will stop the plea, let him consult with his lawyer and if he continues to assert, even indirectly that he is innocent, the judge will reject the plea and set that muthafucka for trial.
