Actually, I don’t support that aspect of the Civil Rights Act, because it was used by white feminists to usurp civil rights gains and protections meant for Black people. Hence the consequent affirmative action problem I discuss above.
The act's provisions included:
  • Ending segregation: The act ended segregation in public accommodations, public education, and federally assisted programs.
  • Prohibiting discrimination: The act prohibited discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
  • Establishing the EEOC: The act established the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
