Any tennis players in here? What are the attributes to be a pro tennis player? I see us dominating this sport if we get numbers in it.

They created a system much like hockey and golf to keep us out

It's expensive as f*ck the community doesn't / didn't want to share.

My oldest plays I used to but i suck

Endurance intelligence hand eye coordination fast twitch muscle memory self control speed strength quick reflexes aggressive excellent cardio strength

We were built to dominate that sport.

That 19 year old kid has a bright future

Frances did better than I expected after that second set. He did good just getting it to the fifth.

I was on my crazy king richard bro

So I started 5 years for both...

I would say try to start before 10

But the thing is every single kid is different

So primary thing is to have fun

So I think any age if the kid is MOTIVATED INTERESTED.

Is OK.

I seen kids start basketball for the first time junior year high school and get college scholarships.

Got you beat...my 5 yr old started getting lessons at 3 and my other 3 yr old is starting in a few months. They are still just learning the game. At least a yr from playing an actual match.

To others interested in getting their kids into tennis, I recommend getting a coach who actually likes teaching young kids.

Black people can dominate the sport just like football and basketball if we choose to

Salute brother

First off super dad status respect

Folk out here not recognizing black fathers doing there thing

My oldest first match was against this white boy at like 7 and the joy was ridiculous.

The challenge is keeping their interest up when it stops being just "fun"

So I let them take breaks and play another sport

That is why the biggest gem you shared is getting a REAL YOUTH COACH.

I am strongly considering getting my Richard Williams on. My kids are young and I am close to retirement with plenty of disposable income for coaching. I'm just trying to figure out the basics of what we need to do and if it is too late for my oldest (she is 10).
