Everyone seems scared of busta and missy. Swizz is right on one aspect. Busta vs missy sonically doesn’t sound good. They both have great showmanship but the songs don’t matchup. Mos and kweli vs de la
Ll vs drake… been saying it for over a yr.. call it ladies night.. old school playboy vs new school playboy… females from 15-50 will watch.. biggest female audience ever.. dudes gonna watch cause of their girls… I even made the playlist last yr and played it at a few bbqs and everybody agreed after hearing the playlist that would be a great battle( they initially doubted me until I showed the playlist or played it)
I've seen it a couple times, and have revisited the moments I liked the most outside of that.
I've also listened to some Dipset songs that I felt that they definitely should have used. Actually, for the rest of time we will see in YouTube comments, "Dipest should have played this.". There are several songs they didn't do that should have been prioritized for this battle. They really could have put an exclamation point on their movement. Think about it. Arsonist was on Math Hoffa's show talking about what happened. I'm thinking why in the fuck was Arsonist not a part of putting there portion of it together. I'm not in the crowd that Hell Rell, JR Writer, and 40 Cal would have completely turned the tide, bit they would have damn sure have helped. It blows my mind to think that Cam did would be so great at negotiating the money behind the scenes, but then allow themselves to undermine what could have been a true resurgence. But it may boil down to him really not fucking with his crew like that. I didn't like seeing them try to diffuse the LOX's seriousness. They came prepared out of respect. If I'm Cam, I'm recreating his verse he spit on Rap City when he was counting the money on that Scarface beat. The crowd would have went bananas.
What's crazy about this Versuz is how polarizing to it is to those who know how much was left on the table.
It was a celebration of the LOX and a huge "You gotta be fucking kidding me" when it comes to the Dips.
