You cant be mentally fragile & play that position. Every person doesnt hold the resolve to wear that number.
And yes, some are better suited to be backup QB's like a relief pitcher. Hopefully Geno gets that opportunity or another opp to start.
He is damaged goods right now. Needs a change of environment & team culture to have a shot. Sitting on the bench the rest of the season could prolong his career.

The Jets are a stupid organization. Don't they realize that without a fucking line, running game, and quality receivers NO quarter back would look good. Even Peyton Manning would struggle with these shitty ass Jets teams. Sanchez is a better quarter back than both Vick and Smith and they made him the fall guy for all of their problems. Now it's Smith who is the problem. Next it will be Vick. I swear, the jets are a disgrace.
I think Rex is there because Woody Johnson likes him, and the new GM would have wanted to bring in his own coach, but took the job knowing he'd have to keep Rex for a while... and probably made that deal with ownership that Rex wouldn't have total control of who the QB is.
