The WNBA playoffs are going on right now. Half of the seats the camera lets you see are empty, damn near all of the seats the camera tries to hide are empty. If people aren't willing to come and see a playoff game on a weekend afternoon, those women are lucky to be getting what they're getting.

The difference between men and women head to head is just as evident as in other sports, but in tennis at least, the women's game does have tremendous popularity on its own unlike the wnba. One reason is Seattle, Phoenix and Washington and Atlanta (expect this year Phillips is being renovated) all play in NBA arenas....
The smart move alot of the WNBA teams did was move to smaller venues...
College or G-Leauge arenas seating 5,000 to 10,000...
Out of the 12 teams... 7 play in NBA 20,000 seat arenas...
With Washington planning to move to the Wizards G-Leauge Arena...

They need to find a way for women to open their purses. Maybe if the WNBA was getting black hair care type dollars they would make more.
I once suggested on here they play with a smaller ball(so they can palm the ball better) and make the rim a foot shorter(so we can see dunks). Women are not built to have the same athletic prowess or the size of men.
If they was serious about their paper they would go for the low hanging fruit. The WNBA has a built in market with the feminists and the LBGTQ crowd. All they have to do is market to them. Let's face it the players are either feminists or lesbians or both so why not force those demographics to put their money where their politics are? Instead of complaining about the pay gap between the NBA players and the WNBA they should be marketing to those groups I named specifically. Who else is going to pay to see women looking like Rick Mahorn do layup drills for a 36 game season?

WNBA's been playing ball for 21 years, everyone who wants to watch is watchng. They need to figure out how to attract new fans. Women's college basketball is big, once players leave they no longer care about them.
They need to ask those fans why?
