$1 Million isn't that much. I don't even know if I would truly quit my job with that low sum, but I would seriously think about it considering my low debt. But here you go.

Put 10 years worth of taxes in an interest bearing escrow account, $50K
I don't know if I'd quit my job, but if I did I'd wait almost 6 months (in Ohio you have 180 days to claim) because "Real Life" you cannot get back once you come up like this. If there are any famous people on this board, they know that for a week most famous people would love to be a normal person for a week. I mean where NOBODY knows them. Rich as they are, they never truly get a vacation.
Car, maybe a Buick Enclave or an Audi/BMW SUV, factory rims, moonroof, leather interior. I'm not flashy. - No more than $60K
Finish my basement - no more than $20K
House interior partial overhaul, install granite countertops, new furniture, paintings by local (inexpensive) artists that I like, decorations - not close to $15K
John Deere or Cub Cadet tractor - maybe $5k (I like cutting my grass)
I am not a partier, nor am I flashy or have any vices. I don't smoke, I drink sweet mixed drinks (Amaretto Sours, Midori Sours, Disaronno, shit like that), absolutely no drugs so that is not a problem.
Close friends/family (and there ain't many) may get up to $5K MAX or whatever their biggest bill/debt is
Mom would either get a decent $50K condo or her rent paid for 2 years. She probably doesnt want to move too far so she'll probably move to a nicer place and I'll pay the rent. She'll get a Kia or Hyundai sedan and like it and $5-10K spending money (hell, she doesn't have to pay rent for 2 years, so what she makes at work she can keep). As a matter of fact, sister and brother will get new Kia or Hyundai sedans, too...or 20K.
$50K for me to splurge or go on trips with.
After all of that I got what, not even $500K spent. I'm frugal as hell. I'll probably keep the government job, though. Talk about stress free. Come in smiling, leave smiling. Any time I don't want to come, take an unpaid day. WTF can they say?
The interest I make off of $400K will sustain me because I have everything I need and everything is new already. I got a steam washer/dryer, French-Door Fridge, stove, furnace that are all 3 years old or less. I'm good to go. Motherfuckers would be calling me Godofweinberg I'm so Jewish.
The way I see it, I want to be set for the rest of my life, not just part time. Not trying to run out of money, either. Anybody who doesn't like what I give them can give it back. If any of my family won, no matter how close, I would not expect anything and take whatever they gave me because it essentially is more than I had.
