Jordan: I Could Beat LeBron In My Prime... OJ Mayo got the business at my camp

It's good to see MJ still high on confidence... You've got to respect his self-belief; that's what made him a great player.

Mike just wanted to get at Kobe, 'cause his comment made no sense.

You'd lose to Kobe 'cause he stole all your moves?

If you're in your prime, and Kobe is in his prime, Kobe stealing your moves won't mean shit if you're simply the better player.

Mike just wanted to fuck with Kobe.

Too many quotes....."I can everybody other then Kobe because he steal all of my moves"

 kobe even steals the way Jordan talks, they sound almost exactly a like.

but, i take his kobe comment sort as a compliment, Jordan knows that cocky little pest is the closest thing to him.

It made sense that he would lose to Kobe because Kobe stole all his moves.

Implicitly what he is saying is that only MJ can beat MJ

I bet LeBron RIGHT NOW could be a better owner and decision maker for the Bobcats. He wont speak on that tho...bitch ass.

Vanity.

Jordan sees, to some degree, someone with the same competitive fire, work ethic, and desire to be the greatest. Toss in this guys obsession with Mike, and it's hard for him to pick against Kobe, even if it's the right answer.

Seem like Kobe the only player MJ truly respects though!

:lol::lol:

everybody should be laughing except oj mayo

and i wonder if other nba players gonna speak on it like the control verse cause they didn't get mentioned

OJ Mayo non defensive playing ass should've shut up. I forgot how big of a prospect he was coming out of high school though. He was one of the best in the country. Looking at his game now its hard to imagine it. Very good player but he doesn't have the qualities most dominant high school players have.

I bet if MJ came out of retirement with the new rules that cater to niggas like Lebron and Wade, he'd probably come in putting up atleast 15 a game.

 I like it!

This is why I like Kobe 1:25:

...Reggie Miller is the only other player that I can think of who just didn't play Mike hard, but was on some 'fuck you nigga, I'm a beast, too' type shit. Starks went at Mike, I feel, but ... I don't know, I always felt it there was a lot of respect. Not that Kobe and Reggie didn't respect Mike, but while they respected him, they truly, down deep, wanted to crush that nigga.

Outside of Shaq in Miami, I have never seen Kobe more determined to defend and/or attack someone offensively as was with MJ. I remember reading in my book that when Kobe found out he was going to get significant minutes playing against the Bulls in 1997, Del Harris said Kobe started hyperventilating with excitement.:smh:

this is gone make the kobe comeback so much better
that nigga gone be unbearable this year

pass the ball pshh gtfoh

Both of those dudes have some sort of competitive mental illness

Well, in all honesty...

...I think Jordan had a more pure love of winning. Jordan also wanted to be the best player, as well. However, in my opinion, I think Jordan's need to win, and his desire to be perceived as the greatest was 50/50. I think Kobe's desire to be perceived as the best vs the need to win is 70/30.

I think Kobe realized along the way that big numbers and flashy plays, w/o the wins, was meaningless. However, his first few years in the league, dude was trying to show the world how nice he was - i.e. dude was trying to pull off a nasty sequence of dribbling into acrobatic lay-ups or dunks on damn near EVERY play - to the detriment of LA. That's what infuriated Shaq. Shaq had the media on his ass saying he couldn't win, and here you have Kobe out there playing to build the world's greatest highlight reel.

A lot of people don't remember, but if you think Kobe is erratic now, you should've seen him back THEN. He's refined his erratic behavior.

I remember an 'anonymous source' saying in the book 'Mad Game' that Kobe needed to take his ass into the streets with his style of play, 'cause he ain't meant for the NBA.

Let me show you a example of something. This is from his first year:

1:43: There is never a reason to shoot a backward, clap the hand lay-up, and definitely not in traffic, but with his limited playing time, that's how he felt the need to use it. If you hear the announcer, dude said, 'One outstanding move after the another(I saw the game). Kobe was ONLY averaging 15 minutes a game that year, but I remember games in San Antonio and Boston, his rookie year, where dude would pull off such sick moves, the crowd would chant his name - IN OTHER CITIES.

Frankly, I miss that Kobe.

The Lakers trainer, Gary Vitti, was hot about that.

I really wondered what made him think to do that shit?

You're trying to come back from a MAJOR injury, one that can COMPLETELY derail your goals of surpassing Mike in points, and perhaps even gettin' another ring, and you do that shit?

Wow.

Clearly, risk-taking is a huge part of his psych. makeup.

Damn, I'm concerned for that dude after his career. How is he going to channel that shit when he's no longer playing?
