Anyone investing heavily this year??

How much money did you lose/gain this past week?

How are you maximizing on the runners?
Are you setting automatic stop losses of 10-15% and letting it run?
Are you manually scaling back taking profits as you go?

Right now i'm leaving alot of $$$ on the table and i want it all!
Since there is no stop loss in extended trading, I manually (& mentally) watch it run. I know what Im willing to lose. I trade AH/PM on thinkorswim, so I have it set to auto send >> Active Trader open >> finger on the mouse to click my exit. I haven't perfected it and have missed my mark a few times, but overall it works. I really don't like FAST movers in PM/AH though. I prefer the ones that move up and down 2 to 3 cents a clip. Easier to enter/exit.

Which companies will benefit tonight’s debate. There has to be a move I can make today that will run tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the heads up...But we have no idea what's it going to do once it resumes....hmmm...

Thanks for this summary. I personally hate AH/PM trading..the voliatility. Right now i'm making my best plays doing the research on the possible runners opening bell and scalping off them. Any other time for me right now doesn't go as well!

Also starting to profit of the highs and low tickers of the previous day and take a position accordingly. Not perfect but slowly learning..

I was going to try to do a quick $100 scalp, but the action wasn't there. You can see on the candle I entered, it started selling off (it was thick when I entered). So, it was time for me to exit.

Cut loose a few hedges and losing positions yesterday. Right now just holding and waiting to max out contracts I have on $NIO ($18/$17 call spread), $SPY ($332/$331), $AAPL (about a half dozen) and my two FDA plays for Oct. Hoping some losing positions on $FCX & $RKT and a long shot on $AMC turn the corner.

Think I’m gonna sit tight unless something really good comes my way. Feel like I’ve been over trading and paying for it.

I saw that too. But typically AH/PM on these smaller type tickers just don't have the type of volume i'm comfortable with. Hopefully you were able to get a little something.

What's your thoughts on the upcoming $PSP(pepsi) earning report Oct 1st?

$RKT absolutely killed me along with this bullshit $RAD i'm holding.

If you're going to do options then spread is the way to go unless you absolutely sure about your call/put play.

Lesson learned..

NIO exploded today. Up almost 12%.....$$$

Yea buddy. Made a little income off my call option and still holding shares till Valhalla..

It's long term for me, but I will take profit periodically then buy the dip again. NIO has a long way to go before it hits its price target.

This exactly.... Shit I'm building a position in my trading account and another in my IRA. Obviously, it's way easier and more comfortable doing option plays off the companies I'm already long on since I follow them on the daily. I've learned my limits and temperament, so that's about all I have patience for right now in that regard.

It's hard to predict what these people will do on positive earnings. I don't do options (yet), so I can't help you there. I do notice that prices tend to run up 3 or so days before earnings if the sentiment is positive.

Im still bag holding on RKT. Its annoying me at this point, but I'll hold it until some news pushes it up so I can sell it.

I am holding a bag on GNUS and HTZ.
I am not selling either.
GNUS will come back.
I am watching HTZ see if they will come out of BK or if they get parcelled out by Enterprise and a couple other firms.
If I get to a point where I see my profits looking really good I may start selling off HTZ.

My thing with GNUS is wait until it drops back down to $1, then hold it until they release some news that makes it jump .20. Rinse & repeat. They are good for news every 2.5 weeks.

"The big debut of the week is Palantir Technologies (PLTR), which is expected to start trading in a direct listing on the NYSE on September 30. Bankers think the software/data analytics company could start off in the $10 range, which would give it a lush market cap of just under $22B. "

Hmmmmm....

"The Denver-based company lost $580M in 2019. "

:dunno:

Grabbed some cheap MU puts at open. Betting on the downfall after poor earnings guidance. Whats the opposite of "To the moon!"........ ?

AAPL and NIO!!!! :money:

This has defintely been a sellers markets. You're alot more likely to win and make gains on the down-turn.

Congrats!

Was fortunate enough to catch the $SHLL drop off. I was going exit when I hit $200, but it didnt make it.

I just jumped in and grabbed $50 spread after things were dropping but now confused reading all the news. What's your plan after merger and what do you see impact to stock? Thinking I should bail

I am holding SHLL for the merger on Webull. After its finalized I may sell, not sure yet. I scalped that big drop to $45 on thinkorswim.

*BTW, looks like the merger wont be done tomorrow.
