PS3 obviously. The shit has a built in Blu ray player and plays PS3, PS2(pardon the 40gig), and PS1 games.

RealTalk going out today and buying one I am set on the PS3 because I never owned an XBOX play it at my cousins but because I'm so used to PS2 controllers I really never got the hang of it when playing unfamiliar games....but also looking closely at the Xbox for the ability to play .divx...
Questions:
How is browsing the internet?
PS3 vs. Xbox
Can you play divx on a PS3?
Can you play PS2 Games on a PS3?
Does the PS3 show well on a flat screen TV?

360 at this point. Xbox Live killen um, plus action and sports games... Good drop on the pics. That second pic is nice. Thighs are incredible...

yeah you can run linux. and im lovin the new divx update.
Ive got both so i'd recommend the ps3 in the long run. It has alot more functionality. the 360 beats the ps3 when it comes to online the only thing is there is a yearly fee where as ps3 is free.
PS3 That Conan game is Fire..Need more adult game..I'm a nasty mofo 
the browsing is good, bgol looks amazing on a ps3 browser. i can only assume it functions better if you install linux which i plan on doing after the holidays when i install a larger hard drive.
both 360 and ps3 look great through hdmi on an hdtv. personal opinion, the 360 handles lighter colors better, the ps3 handles black level and darker colors better. (thats a personal opinion, everyone has different eyesight and preference)
the 40gb is not compatible with ps2 games.

if you want the largest library of games out now. the 360.
i dont, but if you want to download movies both have downloadable movies but the 360 has a good set up. i dont download movies, well i do but from bgol
(360 has hd dvd player as a seperate attachment)

if you want upconvert dvd player and a high def player (blu ray) then ps3.
2007 hasnt been the best year for games on the ps3, 2008 looks good though for both systems.
if you have ps2 games and go with ps3 then go with the 80gb model it has partial backward compatibility (60gb is you can find it, it has full backward compatibility)
40gb no backward compatibility but all the other features are there.
upgradable hard drive that can support linux.
works with your psp for extra features.

i'm trading in my wii today and getting another ps3 for my kids, its what they asked for.
my brother is going with the ps3 as well. if he were a hard core gamer he probably would have gone with the 360. but for him its about bang for buck as well. he likes the hard drive set up, the blue tooth that he can switch with his current blue tooth keyboard and mouse on his computer.
more importantly for him is he doesnt want alot of devices in his room. 1 device that functions as a dvd player and high def player with internet and a few good games is perfect for him and what seems to be the new standard sony console owner (the non hard core gamer, low sales of some of the better ps3 games lead one to believe the majority of ps3 owners are looking for the dvd functions more than the gaming aspect)
lastly i dont recall the feeling of the ps2 controller, but i dont know if its because the current one is missing the rumble (out in spring) but i feel like the ps3 controller is smaller than the ps2. i'm not crazy about the ps3 controller. i'm anxiously awaiting a third party ps3 controller with rumble and sixaxis.
i used to have the same concerns about the xbox controller. the 360 controller isnt as massive as the original and actually handles very well on fps games. horrible d pad though.

i love my wii, i really do..
but now that i have the ps3 and the 360
i really have no time for the wii
maybe later i'll get one again, or i'll hold out and hope for wii 2

the wii has been in my brothers house for 2 weeks and my kids want a ps3 so i can trade in the wii and get the ps3 cheaper. he's planning to get a ps3 soon as well and doesnt need a second console as he is not a huge gamer, although uncharted made his jaw drop and thats what sold him on it.
Can you play PS2 games on a PS3? Not if you haven't bought one of the older models. Backwards compatibility has been removed from the newer 40Gig models.

so i trade in my wii, extra controller, wii sports, wii play, nunchuck, metroid 3, charge kit, wii blaster, raving rabbids, cordless sensor bar, an extra 360 controller i'm not using, a ps3 controller i spilled coffee on, old ps2 network adapter i found in my closet, some old ps2 games my brother had laying around he didnt want
i have the ebgames/gamestop edge card that adds 10% off to trade ins and when i came in to work in the morning i had an email from gamestop offering me a 30% extra credit toward my trade in's that ended yesterday
after everything
my credit was roughly $395 dollars.. the ps3 is $399
i picked up two extra ps3 controllers one for my son and one to replace my coffee infested one
walked out paying only a hundred total
now i'm thinking about returning my ps3 controller, heading to the local mom and pop korean game store in the bronx and getting the DS3 controller instead
