I have 2 older cousins who had individual, accidental encounters with bears and they had the complete opposite reactions, lol.
1st cousin had one step out on the path in the trail ahead of him. He stood there at a distance and immediately racked his brain on what to do / not to do. Once the bear stepped back into the bushes ... he turned and ran the fuck outta there.
The other cousin was taking his garbage out to the side of the house, and opened the gate and the bear was there near the garbage and recycling. He froze in his place, closed the gate, and immediately got back inside to his wife and 4 kids. Fuuuuuuuuck that. They live a few minutes from some woods.
