I shared an office with Kirsty at the University of Adelaide. She was a tiny woman and i cant help but think that wearing a black dry suit she looked like a penguin, the Leopard Seal's main food.

Shits crazy to think about yo. Them being biologists and knowing the wildlife risks + still sporting that attire in that environment (at her size) was diabolical. I have no doubt that leopard seal thought it was fittna eat the fattest penguin ever :smh:

Agreed. Especially when seals and sharks are approaching from below & might mistake the shapes and sizes.

Bruh, they said that leopard seal was FIFTEEN FEET LONG!
.. the whole event had to have been terrifying.

That's a shark level of scary at that point at 15 feet!

Funny story for you ... I was swimming in a lake back in the 90s. Dad's coworker had a small cabin at a place called Green Lake which is about 6 hours out of town. Nice getaway that he would rent out to his coworkers during warmer months of the year. My parents rented it out a few times in August when they were still married. Good place to go biking, swimming, and just chilling by the campfire and all of the cabins and houses had their own little individual docks. It was kicking it old school ... old grainy black & white TV. Had an outhouse when you needed to use the washroom, etc. I was hooping alot back then and the nearest basketball court was about 30 - 45 mins away on bike, so I biked there often to get my workouts on. Those were the days. Surprised I never got too dehydrated, haha. That heat.

So I'm swimming one day and had the goggles on as it was fairly clear at times. A large fish swam past me and bumped into my arm. Sturgeon?

I thought it was a small shark of some sort. Panicked. Hadn't seen any other fish in my time, and grew up on JAWS and other scary movies. I was scanning that water alot moving forward. You never know about those sharks in Canadian lakes!

* But I couldn't be too scared though. The neighbours had 2 daughters and they were often there. Both bad little honeys. Made out with one of them, and spent plenty of time with them when visiting. The other sister was hotter though. She was too cool for young Funk unfortunately.
