**** 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season: Monitoring Disturbance in the Caribbean | South Florida on Notice ****

some areas are about to get more flooding.................they have to release water from one of the reservoirs, otherwise it could fail.
that water has no place to go except in the already flooded neighborhoods where the water will rise even higher.

I have been telling you guys that Florida flood control works off of the ocean levels. The ocean levels has been extremely high lately, so the water has nowhere to go.

Anyone mention in the thread the amount of homeowners, who if you all remember, many can't afford insurance and decided to hold their own costs of future damages during storms.
Many insurance policies blew up to $20-30k a year during Covid with the storms that hit FL. So with the new influx of peeps that came there during covid, many chose to leave.

FEMA may be denying many claims or giving people next to nothing. Can't remember what FEMA limits are per home but think it may be like $42k for repairs and the same for housing assistance while home is unoccupiable. Add in that FEMA said after Helene they are out of funds for storms.

After all is said and done, windstorm insurance by next year will be astronomical.

Probably already posted, but was new to me (crazy):

I have a strong feeling a lot of people died from this hurricane I’m not talking about 50 or 60 people. I’m talking about 500 or 600 people…. Even that is conservative.

Finally got power back yesterday after being without it since Wednesday night. First thing I did was request quotes to have a generator installed and purchased a more powerful power bank. The 4 of us were good with our phones and personal portable chargers. Plus our cars were able to charge stuff. The weather gets down to about 65 degrees at night so sleeping wasn't too bad with the windows open. Had to grill for the 3 days but that was cool too, better than all that food going to waste. Only damage I had was some branches fell from trees from my and my neighbors house and destroyed a fence. We will take care of that out of pocket, wasn't too bad. Prayers to all the people who had it worse than us and are still without. @4 Dimensional , you deserve an award and to be on the BGOL mount Rushmore. You're knowledge got me thru this shit. Truly appreciate you bruh.

Hell yea, this great to hear

Great words of praise towards Our Hood Weatherman…

Will y’all rebuild the fence or hire someone?

ummmmm what’s this, some bullshit

Model are all over the place right now, but there are some indications potential development.

I usually don’t start showing model graphics until some agreement unfolds, but the GFS and ECMWF models have been hinting at some things.

Two days ago a cat at work showed me a picture, stating another potential storm.

I didn’t even think twice about it…waiting until kinfolk speak on it

There’s a strong potential of another system hitting Florida later next week maybe and a lot of people will have to make some tough decisions. Remember, you cannot hide from climate change. The few insurance companies that is left in the state I’m going to raise premiums like crazy and you all know that the premiums are already sky high.
