Nothing would have changed had they showed up motivated today and beat Georgia. They would still be out of the playoffs.
FSU wasn't beating Georgia without Jordan Travis so they weren't going to be able to do that, as far as Georgia getting screwed are you saying you think Georgia and Bama should have been in?
I will say FSU may wanna reconsider leaving the ACC if this is the kind of treatment they will receive from teams in the SEC.
But it still would have helped their argument and put egg on the committees face. They have no leg to stand on now.

People saying Georgia showed up but a lot of those players also have a ring or 2 so yeah, they may be upset they were left out but they have won. FSU did what they were supposed to do and still got left out. The ACC may not be as strong as it was but don't act like that conference hasn't won any National Championships. Florida State had to really rebuild after Jimbo stopped giving a fu k about the team and bounced to Texas A&M. For them to finally get back to winning and have that done to them was fucked up.
I felt the same way, the committee crumbled under the Nick Saban/SEC pressure, they felt they had to put Bama in there because they beat Georgia and weren't in there last year but then saw they also had to put Texas in there above BAMA because of how Texas beat BAMA earlier this year. There's no way a #7 & #8 team should jump to #3 & #4 and a #1 drops to #6
I think the committee got it wrong because they changed their criteria to choose the teams THEY wanted. They should have dropped FSU the week they lost Travis if the criteria was starting QB and SOS. They waited until final selection to invoke that logic.
If FSU was number 4 going into weekend and beat a higher ranked team than Texas did using the exact same criteria, then their resume was still stronger. You can argue whether they were a top 4 team but you can't argue the committee changed their criteria.
I was actually shocked Georgia wasn't seriously considered apparently for the playoffs.
If anything, being the defending back-to-back national champion should have counted for something.
They went undefeated and then barely lost to Alabama in their final game.
I would have had in the playoffs:
Washington
Michigan
Georgia
FSU
Again, nothing would have changed. Putting egg on the committee's face would not have changed anything.
It's not like the committee would say we fucked up, change their mind and put in FSU over another team this year.
Man that’s a a JV team out there. Their best players checked out mentally and physically after being snubbed and I don’t blame them for skipping this exhibition. Even their second and third stringers don’t want to be out there there today.
Don’t get me wrong I don’t think they could beat an UGA team at even at full strength but they earned the right to have a shot to play in the CFP

FSU built their team and relied on the portal and didn’t recruit well. This is what happens when you do that. You get a bunch of players that don’t care about the “team” and the remaining players are scrubs
Naw FSU recruited poorly and tried to build through the portal. This is the byproduct of that. A bunch of players that are not loyal and were only there for the NIL.

Times have really changed. Just a couple of years ago those rings were everything.
They were 13-0 so it seems to have worked, can't really tell if the remaining players are scrubs or just went along with the opted out players of they're playing for nothing
Watch them try to use it as an excuse to rewrite the rules for the transfer portal instead.
