One firefighter said embers can travel in the air for miles!!

Must feel like a nightmare being played out for firefighters, first responders, and regular civilians trying to help out before needing to evacuate.

2 of my former coworkers from the 2000s lost their homes in the 2010s.
One in her 30s married with 4 kids. Then got into a car accident some weeks later & the car was a write-off. Thankfully no one was injured in the fire or crash.
The other coworker in the Fort McMurray wildfire(s) of 2016. She had relocated there with her husband (late-30s / early-40s) and they'd bought their 1st home within that same year or two.
