Noticing differences is one thing. Creating a system of classification to make another human being not human is another thing.
Race was created to make it seem that Africans were not really human.
They were more like animals.
Therefore it was ok to have them enslaved.
And if it was ok then the wealth that they generated was ok to keep.
But to keep it, a system need to be created that keeps that line of thought in place........ and that birthed racism i.e. race and white advantage being preserved throughout all elements of society, the education system, financial system, religion etc...

There was only regional travel e.g. European travelled to Timbuktu, Alexandria etc. to learn.
