All a deal really does is get you broader exposure and CREDIBILITY. I hate to say it, but I noticed a lot of people don't take battle rappers seriously because they're unsigned. You see how these signed artists are able to get money even Lux and Mook can't get, JUST because they're signed? Budden and Cassidy will get more than Mook, Lux, and Hollow have ever gotten for a battle.

The money is going to be made from being on the road, merchandising, etc.

Lux has low-key been making some good bread from battles and hustling merch. online and in Harlem.

Problem with that is, Mook has been signed before. Didn't do shit for him. lux probably has too.

You have to have the RIGHT deal at the right time.

Shit, Jae Mills was signed back when he batted Mook. He even had a single that was poppin at one point. I heard of him as an artist FIRST. He's been signed to Wayne, the hottest label in the game for years now and hasn't released shit. He'll be stepping in that ring soon.

Cassidy is getting what he's gonna get ONE TIME because he held out long enough from the time he was actually hot.
Lux got what he got because he came back and had a magical night. As long as Mook keeps having great nights he can battle once a year and get big checks.

Deals USED to give you credibility. Most of the new rappers coming out these days don't have a deal. Bobby Schmurda had this hit before he got a deal just like Trinidad James did and all they're gonna get from their deal is more help on an already successful SONG and a nice check. Without a song poppin, A deal for Lux is just a check- HOPEFULLY. His publicity comes from the battle he had with Calicoe. He's been living off that for 2 years. Not bad. Any rapper would be happy to have that. If one of his songs happens to take off, that'd be sweet.

Ok after viewing this... charron came in waaaay more prepared

he studied shotgun hard.....

and came back with the some reallly good barz that were in his lane..

shotgun underestimated the fear factor, he thought he would have him shook

but he didnt and that swayed the battle towards charron..

that being said, I think suge didnt really lose, he proved that with a couple of tweaking

to his stage game he could be an elite battle rapper, but he counts too much on his stage

presence and intimidation factor..

charron takes an L tho for letting another man tap his pockets and he didnt tap his pockets back..

He could definitely beat Conceited. Hitman would be close. That would be one of those cam vs building battles. And Tay Roc. There are people who don't think that he's lost since the 1rst Clips battle(I'm not one of those people at all) and the crowd really fucks with him so while I think Brizz could beat him a New York crowd could affect that battle like it sounds like they affected the Tay Roc-DNA battle.

I could see Brizz doing better on a big stage than T-Top cause he's more animated and aggressive.

Swave's issue is that he had 2 big name battles this year and lost both of them and lost to fucking Rosenberg Raw. I still can't get over that shit. Math cost him his big shot to be on Summer Madness last year and maybe Head Ice took his spot on URL. Personally I'd like to see Swave battle either Tay Roc or Calicoe.

Problem is Gunit probably never even heard of JC so they thought it was just gibberish. The celebrity are welcome to watch but I think the vets should be judges ie: Goodz, Swave, John John ...etc.

On a side note who the hell dresses these guys? Xcel looking like he jogged to the battle and they just pulled him into the battle. And Anubis looks like he sleeps in his clothes, wakes up and plays video games.

how hard is it to see that Lux got MURDERED in that battle? I went back several times, to see it l was in the building- he spit the weakest shit ever.

If anything, having judges wouldve SAVED him cuz he didn't have the crowd AT ALL. He had us in the first round, but Mook eclipsed that- after that, his rounds were just all filler.

If the judges wanted to help him- because they are people who listen to bars- they could have, but theres no way they could've given him that. Every set up he had, went into the weakest punches and payoffs he's ever spit. And he didn't even spit anything deep. He would've lost even in the quiet room.

I like the depth but they both had it. Anubis had the timing down better.

I understand what people mean by wanting artists with depth but you have to be able to take people where you're going. I personally don't feel Xcel does that, but hey...

Also, it does matter as well that the judges weren't all up on everything you mentioned. Xcel needs to know that you gotta translate the feeling with your depth. Anubis is not devoid of depth. He may not be AS deep as X but he can bring what he has across.
