Amazon Prime Video starts showing ads in January unless you pay $2.99/month extra

Not for nothing but I tried watching the first two episodes of Rings of Power thru the Prime app. The first episode kept stopping to buffer/load (what is this the early 2000s) and neither episode looked all that clear. And the 2nd episode had an ad half way thru that kept making the app freeze.

For the rest of the season I downloaded the episodes like normal and the look and feel was MUCH better.

These streaming niggas will keep on with the enshittification of their apps/experience until people cancel. "Fuck you, pay me" is their north star. They want to extract every cent they can.

I still don't get the endgame.

When the public said to improve on cable?

This was not what we wanted.

Now we stuck.

And they keep threatening a piracy crackdown is coming.

Like I I told you in the other thread, these streaming companies are charging prices like cable and don't nobody want to be paying all that a month just to watch channels while still have to pay extra for PPV, movies, porn when they can get all that stuff for a fraction of the price paying it either monthly or a year or free. Piracy isn't going nowhere.

Let me be clear I never ever implied piracy is going to disappear completely.

All I'm saying is it SOUNDS LIKE they are planning a major push to make it even harder for the average consumer to be able to access it

Most on here? Ain't the average

Plus, with all these damn movies being developed specifically for streaming, they need a ton of upfront money for that shit.

Streaming prices are headed straight the way of cable prices.

I'm a Hybrid nigga. I have Amazon and Netflix, but most of my TV watching is through an IPTV service and CINEMA HD.

Yeah, no matter how hard they try, we will still find a way to get what we want.

But like I said, catch me if you can sucka. Lol

I agree, I have Netflix and Amazon as well.

But IPTV pretty much cover all the bases.

My only issue is you gotta wait a day or 2 or sometimes almost a month to watch a movie or TV show since they don't come out early when you're subbed to Netflix and Amazon.

What do you mean? What's an example?

I'm saying the movies and TV shows on IPTV takes longer to be released. Someone has to upload those episodes and movies, when the person responsible for uploading those episodes and movies don't do it.

So, that's why having Amazon prime and Netflix for backup helps.

Gotcha.... Yeah, that's true. I generally have to wait about a day for new stuff.

I had not even heard of GenV until one day I was watching The Boys and once the season I was watching was over, GenV just started playing.

I thought I was still watching The Boys, but it turned out to be GenV.

Very good show. Looking forward to season #2.
Unfortunately 1 of the main characters ( the black kid) died in real life. So they gonna switch the storyline without him and they don’t plan on replacing his character with another actor
