Happens all the time. I think this was made by Japanese studio. You have anime based on Chinese that are made by Japanese studios.

Best anime of all time. I wish he had the time like One Piece. It would be the GOAT (already is) unanimously. The story is just as good, potential off the charts, too bad blood was sick and married to Sailor Moon. Lack of motivation and deteriorating health robbed us of the GOAT. It’s like if MJ busted his knee after the first 3 peat and retired
I don't think Hunter x Hunter will come back for a third time. Like you said the mangaka been having health issues for over 20+ years. It's so bad that people made a "Hunter x Hunter hiatus chart" because of the medical issues he's had. He said that it all started when he was finishing up Yuyu Hakusho that's why he rushed the ending to the manga because of it. On top of that,he was prepping for Hunter x Hunter.
I stopped reading the manga because of the long hiatus.
Hunter x Hunter is still top-tier despite not having an ending..imo..I've been thinking about rewatching the series again.

Man that shit is so fire. So fckn fire. The story is good is every way. The universe was just about to open up with the whole “outside world” shit and exploring the dark continent. The manga started up a few times last year but ion see it ever running on all cylinders to finish even that arc completely. Father Time and health is undefeated. I wish dude could tell the story to someone else and let them takeover or sumn. Why not share the vision to the best of your ability? Why take such a dope ass story millions enjoyed with you? That shit sad and trash at the same damn time

Theirs a sequel manhwa series of Solo Leveling called Solo Leveling: Ragnarok. It came out last year with 30-something chapters now.

Actually,Solo Leveling is a manhwa(Korean comic),really a light novel that's where the manhwa and anime gets the source from.
They'll probably do it since Solo Leveling is a hit but won't animate it every year since the sequel series ain't done.
Like,I said that's probably not happening. The mangaka been having issues with his health since the end of Yuyu Hakusho manga. Then,he went right into doing Hunter x Hunter afterwards.
On top of that he's married to the creator of Sailor Moon so he's basically chilling but I do hope he finish the manga so we can get a third season of the anime.
The editors be working the mangaka's to death. They rarely sleep or eat and don't let the manga be a hit because it's worse....
