:dunno: Specifics?

Mine work great, took me a minute to get used to High-Efficiency 50 minute wash and 60 minute dry but clothes get cleaned very well and electricity bill is great, so what exactly is
so bad about them? Mine been working flawlessly since 2016.

Icemaker and freezing over..is horrendous.. brah

Whirl pool isn’t the reliability marque that they used to be either.
They became a conglomerate of brands like Maytag, KitchenAid, and Hotpoint But moved much of the manufacturing over to Asia and the quality level slipped. I still trust Electrolux. Their factory is still in North Carolina and they make very robust products.

Miele, Kennmore, Thermador, Sub Zero, and Viking are about the only brands I’ll put my money behind on a recommendation.

When I sold appliances, Whirlpool made 90% of Kenmore appliances and believe it's the same today. If your co-signing Kenmore the you have to mention Whirlpool. Completely different quality and price points.

They're hit or miss. We've had ours for about 3 years, and so far, no issues. That being said, I've heard raves & horror stories about them. I guess it's the luck of the draw with these things.

This is the 5th year with mine.

Issues from year one. Under warranty, they replaced or fixed the ice maker once.

Year 2 out of warranty, the fridge was literally restarting itself when we got ice, as in the display panel cuts out. I fought Samsung on this and after 2 technician visits, the main board unit (the motherboard for the system) was replaced for free.

Years 3/4 - Issues with the ice maker ever since that Samsung refused to fix without a cost.

Best thing I did was do my research, and replace the ice maker myself, in under 10 minutes. It's been fine ever since.

Fuck Samsung fridges. Fuck them with a diseased stick!!!

I have a Samsung fridge and dealt with issues galore especially with the ice maker.

I did the trick of blowing a hair dyer over the ice maker and that worked for a while.

Last year I replaced the ice maker myself after watching a few YouTube videos, and it now works more consistently.

Needless to say, my next refrigerator will not be a Samsung.

Ah but that muddafukkr pretty tho huh .....

My mom had a dryer, Maytag, it was made in 1979

All we changed on it was the element and belt.

I’m sure if she didn’t fuck up the blower with a fork it would still be workin

The coils got too hot, I replaced the blower but the coils and other things got too hot.

Man that shit pissed me off.

Just bought a dryer last yr ..... had the old one since 05' ..... 2 belts and 1 bearing in like 15 yrs .....

I've got a Frigidaire refrigerator that does not have an ice maker. I bought it in 1997 and it has not given me any problems whatsoever.

Every couple of years, I pull it from the wall and clean the back of it.

The bells and whistles on these refrigerators and other appliances are expensive to maintain.

using the giant touchscreen to see what’s in the fridge when you can just open it is hilarious

Samsung makes their fridge for the gimmicks of the screen, knock door and all the bells and whistles. The internal motor is shit, component boards is shit and a lot of the functional parts are shit.

Their washing machines are no good as well.

I had an LG fridge that went out after 10 yrs. Trying to fix it, found a local appliance guy and he explained a lot about today's appliances and fridges. Said many of them from the past 10-15yrs are garbage.

There are about 3 main manufacturers he said today that bought out majority of the companies and slap their brand name on them. Kenmore used to be reliable, that's been gone for years for that same reason. It's why so many parts are compatible with one another like LG may be the same parts as Whirlpool and Maytag. I can't remember the compatible companies, but just named those for example purposes.

I have a Kitchen Aid 5 door fridge, bought from Lowe's that was a special order, that was canceled so they put it on clearance. What we got it for was criminal, lol. $4k fridge for less than 20%. So if it goes, won't feel as bad.

If you're not buying a brand like Jenn Air or Wolf, you're rolling dice, hoping something doesn't go wrong with the fridges of today.

Samsung fridges just happens to be, aside from their poor reliability, their customer service will fuck you over. I never buy extended warranties, but in their situation, best to buy the store extended warranty and NOT Samsung, you will be fucked. Notorious complaints online about it. They do not honor their warranty on fridges

Sorry for the Colin post, but know too well about it. And yall need to understand, their fridge and washers have nothing to do with the rest of their appliances or any other products, it's a different division that they really don't care about. Samsung is a leader in many other things, mainly their TV's and phones. Can't take that from them.

My sis had one for 10yrs, the motor went out she has kids, they open and close the fuck out of it

I have same one

So tell me again that whirlpool ain’t what it use to be
Man it seems like 10 years is the max for these appliances now no matter the brand. In some cases you lucky to make it to 10 years. :smh: Had my dishwasher for 10 years and it's a Kenmore Elite. The bitch is leaking at times and just shuts off randomly once a week it seems. Time for another one. :smh: For the cost to fix shit you might as well get something brand new. And no I'm not fixing shit. Work too much to get my Bob Villa on. I don't have the time or patience.

KA is Whirlpool’s “Lexus” line however they have taken a knock in quality.

Kennmore is made by a number of manufactures under private label agreement but their fridges are (or at least were) made by Frigidaire.

As for the other brands I mentioned, they make entry level lines that are a bit more price sensitive, however what I do is buy scratch & dent or use.

Even a 7-8 year old used appliance from any of them will last 3x as long and perform 2x as good as Samsung crap.
