Just dropped 14k into ECOB,the stock is under a penny, just got picked up by home depot in 100+ stores. They manufacture a wood that is mold, termite and fire resistant. I am looking to get paid off on this one.

Good look on this! I may drop a few g's on it!

Been investing heavily since 2006. Win some, lose some, but I mostly have won.

I hear you on that. I used to get pissed off in the mid-2000s with the retirement portfolio. All the ups and downs. Trying to save for the future. In my 20s. Mom was like - "Don't worry about it. Just be smart ... patient ... and you've still got decades to go ... shit is gonna fluctuate ..."

RPH you are on something boss. RAD has been surging. I'm up 22% on it myself. I only had 800 shares though. I think it will go to $10 in the next year or two though.

Sup fam as the title states i'm looking into spreading my money into high yielding or good stocks that pay dividends quarterly or even yearly.

i for one can't tell you what stocks to pick. you're gonna have to do the research. i mean i can make some suggestions and its up to you to decide if they're worth a shot.

Rite Aid currently down 8.76% as I write this.

yeah, good thing i wasn't sitting on any of it today.

my portfolio is fluid because i'm mostly day trading this year. so any point in time i could have as little as 2 stocks or as many as 5. if you see my previous posts in this thread i have owned everything from apple to gilead but i am not holding long term.
i am gonna be sitting on apple this time around though for a few. it's about to split 7 ways tomorrow i think.
i digress, sorry. back to your question, to find some stocks that pay dividends, just find some type of free investment stock screener online and use that to find stocks that pay out dividends. or easiest way, just sign up for an account with any brokerage firm and use their tools

rph, are you a member of any services that help you with day trading? I was thinking about joining Harry Boxers site. any thoughts? https://www.thetechtrader.com/

nah son :lol::lol: i am not one of those professional day traders that got like 10 televisions in a room and staring at charts all day. all i got is my laptop and whenever i get some free time at work not counting some viagra pills, i just log on and trade. it is time consuming but i consider it my second job. this is my philosophy, even if i make $500/day average, i am good. so that's all i have been doing. placing orders, sitting back, stock shoots up, i set a stop loss. that's all i have been doing all year.

How do you handle the IRS taxes on day trading?

 wait did you went from 283k to 1m? impressive

:lol: no, i wish. i am no where near a milli yet. i have done over a million dollars worth of trading but my portfolio is worth about $39,000. considering i started the year at around $23,000, i am not complaining.

How do you handle the IRS taxes on day trading?

like biggie said, no need to worry my accountant handles that. as you will notice from the previous posts, i dont have any long term gains so i will be taxed solely on the short term gains which are taxed like personal income but enh, what're you gonna do?

I'm trying to get some friends together(each a professional in some aspect of business) to buy a shore house. Rent it out all year, let the tenants pay the mortgage off.

but wouldn't the problem with that be that it would have to be occupied all year round though. cos i think that's what most shore house owners do...rent it out during the summer months. unless you're gonna charge an exorbitant amount..

Investing at work and plan on picking up more property this year. Been reading up on growing trees. Thinking about planting some pines and oaks. Cash every 5 years.

Viewed a lot of youtube videos and did some options trading the past 2 months on a paper money account.
On a 100k account I was up 8k .
Biggest revelation for me was that you can make money on the regular selling options with limited risk (for instance using credit spread and high probability).
Also I don't have to be right whether the market goes up, down or sideways.
I just need to make sure that the market doesn't come to my position. :)

Of-course there's a lot of stuff to watch out for and to learn but I think a lot of people can do it on.

When the next pay check arrives I will try it with some real money.

Anybody on the board trading options ?
