there are millions of people around the world using Iphones who do not have access to an Apple store, what are they supposed to do?

Shit I use my phone for a lot of banking, so this is good for me. A lot more to lose. That's why I never jailbreak
The people in this thread who OWN iPhones are OK with this protection. It's only the clowns that DON'T own one and/or don't know shit about one that have a problem with it. They call iPhones users sheep when they are nothing but bottom bitches and unlimited streams of revenue to google's whore business model.

Apple users settle for anything.

Apple: our next phone will not allow you to make voice calls.
Sheep: so what, I don't call anyone anyway. I just text and email.

Then Samsung makes a commercial making fun of the iPhone that doesn't have "voice call" features.
Then exactly 6 mos later, Samsung introduces a new Note/Edge without "voice call"... :hmm:

What does the topic of this thread have to do with Google?

And what about the people Apple feeds off. What are they? Why does Apple not have a whore business model. What's the difference?

I can fully understand not wanting people to mess with your software but to fix a screen or alter the physical look of it is not something Apple needs to decide.

They can do whatever they want because their customers won't speak up about it.

I don't think you clowns really understand what's really going on here. Like I said earlier, if third party repairers were stealing cc numbers and personal information from iphones with Touch ID, clowns that don't even own Apple products would be making threads about that too.

This is the most ridiculous shit posted in this thread. The issue was brought to the forefront because iphone users reported the problems. OWNERS...USERS.

nah what u don't kno is making fragile phones is big bizzness..they purposely don't make phones waterproof, with fragile screens, and easy to break parts cause they make a shitload of bread on repairs..it's 2016 why aren't phones waterproof yet(they've had digi cams that's been waterproof for yrs that's under $200)..why can't phones survive a 6 foot drop without it destroying the screen(i have a old nokia phone that i can basically throw from one side of 1 street to the next and that bitch will still work)..the fragile phone bizz is a multi-million dollar a yr hustle..this is why i could never spend my money with a bizzness that purposely makes shitty products..fragile phones and lost phones is big bizzness for these companies..truss i deal with strippers they are the masters of spending mad bread multiple times of yr or fragile repairs or lost phones...plus these phones are really chick phones and chicks usually are the most careless when it comes to phones-which big bizzness knows-

I understand where you're coming from, but I think the iphone has had waterproofing features on the last two models.

But anyways, this thread was started about a error message iphone customers are receiving because of the Touch ID feature on the iphone. It's a security measure becaus that part of the phone contains sensitive data.

Nigga you (and others) started with the name calling, just returning the favor.
No. Why didn't you finish this sentence?
Apple makes its biggest profits from selling hardware. Not by mining your personal information and selling it to advertisers like........
Again.
What does this thread have to do with Google?

You can finish that sentence with many different companies. My point was android OS users are also being monetized in ways to make huge profits for google. They are in no position to call out anyone.

Apple acknowledges 'Error 53' glitch, says it's part of Touch ID security

Apple on Friday publicly acknowledged an unusual "Error 53" message, triggered by updating an iPhone 6 to iOS 9 or later after having the phone's Touch ID sensor fixed by an unofficial technician. [Updated]

15813-12305-touchid-l.jpg

We protect fingerprint data using a Secure Enclave, which is uniquely paired to the Touch ID sensor," a spokeswoman explained to The Guardian. "When [an] iPhone is serviced by an authorised Apple service provider or Apple retail store for changes that affect the Touch ID sensor, the pairing is re-validated."

With an unofficial repair, the representative warned, that pairing can go unvalidated and lead to Error 53 once iOS is updated, or even restored. People running into the glitch should contact Apple support, the spokeswoman suggested.

The problem renders an iPhone unusable however, and affected owners will likely have no choice but to buy a new phone, since an unofficial repair violates Apple's warranty terms.

The Guardian observed that many regions lack Apple Stores, which can sometimes make it hard to find a place to get authorized repairs done in a timely manner.

When Apple launched Touch ID it went to great lengths to assure people that the associated data couldn't be leaked online, or even captured by installed apps. The need to re-validate appears to be a defense against thieves (or other parties) extracting fingerprint data via hardware modifications.

Update: Apple has issued a separate statement to AppleInsider.

"We take customer security very seriously and Error 53 is the result of security checks designed to protect our customers," the company said. "iOS checks that the Touch ID sensor in your iPhone or iPad correctly matches your device's other components. If iOS finds a mismatch, the check fails and Touch ID, including for Apple Pay use, is disabled. This security measure is necessary to protect your device and prevent a fraudulent Touch ID sensor from being used. If a customer encounters Error 53, we encourage them to contact Apple Support."

Tons. You know how many folks don't have apple care?

It's cheaper or around the same price to go into an Apple store and get a screen replaced than it is to go to a kiosk, at least here in Atlanta.

I think it's more about convenience and cost. These side hustle dudes and stores are cheaper.

Not the case, they normally just don't make you wait anywhere near as long as an Apple store would take.

Going to get to the point that if you want to use an Apple product you need to live within an hour drive of an Apple store.

No, if it's damaged to the point that the home button is damaged you have no choice but to take it to Apple. When those phones were new, if the home button was damaged even Apple didn't try to repair it at the store, it was a automatic replacement. and having the button replaced, which is a major part of he security of touchID by anyone eliminates the point. If the store is on the up and up they should know this, and they should be careful enough not to damage the button if they are working on something else.

Have people spending $1,000 on a status symbol that they can't fix. Shit is ridiculous, but Americans have lost all sense of fixing anything, if you fix something you are called broke

Google makes 75% of its mobile ad revenue off of iOS users so are they both bottom bitches and sheep?

Google itself isn't Android, which is what you are implying. Also for what it's worth, it used to be Samsung and Apple were the only people making money in phones, now it seems to just be Apple. Just saying. Market wise, Apple is the only one doing it right currently. (PS: I'm a LG G4 owner)

Apple is going to start closing Apple Stores and start eliminating authorized 3rd party stores, while maintaining that their phones need to fixed only by Apple. Forcing half of its customers to pay the $300 for a replacement phone. And these fucktards will line up to do it. :roflmao2:
