Are we not allowed to post Tweets anymore?

I used the app to make post #30. Problem is I have adblocker so I can not read twitter posts on BGOL via my phone. I did it as a test to see if I could replicate the problem you are having.

Yea it seems like an intermittent issue. It’s not global amongst everyone here but there are users that have been only posting links over the last 2-3 days because of the embed function not recognizing “X.com.”

I’m thinking there may be a script error somewhere after that board crash Saturday morning.

Sidenote: and I mentioned this earlier, I’ve never been able to post screenshots on this forum from my phone. How do you do that? Appreciate the exchange and insight

I have my phone set up to take a screen shot when I swipe my hand across the screen. Then I upload the picture to an image host and post the link. All the while using Firefox for Android with Ublock Origin.

I see. Could be the same issue but being sent out differently.

So on my end, here’s what I’m seeing … (also, that host doesn’t allow linking on this end for some reason)

No error message just some videos play on the page and some you have to go to twitter or x. Some don't play at all.

Ain't no biggie cause I don't care enough I'm just mentioning another of the other glitches I think this board has.

Click on the three dots then select embed post. Then copy and post the link.

That's the way that I've always done it..... don't know why others are doing the other ways

Then it started giving me X.com links and that was it.

That’s funny cause Instagram posts always do that for me on here too. They play once and then the “watch on Instagram” pops up and redirects.

You might as well just copy the image location and put image tags on the link or upload the image to a host.

I post images from Twitter all the time. I just never use their links. I download the image from Twitter then upload the image to an image host and post the link. It takes less than a minute.

It’s the App. Depending on your latest update, Twitter is removed from the link.

For me, I no longer receive a Twitter link and it is “x.com”

Noticed some folks on the board having trouble with Twitter embedding now also.

A temporary workaround is changing the X.com to Twitter.com and it will embed but hopefully X.com can be added to the embed list to solve the overall issue.

I made a post a few minutes ago from some images I got from the Twitter app. Even though the app gave me a share link the embed link option did not work. That is the option that must be available for a post to be made from a link on twitter. It's not a BGOL problem. It's a user related issue.

It used to be simple for everyone.. copy the shared link, embed, done.

Now there’s added steps or the inability to share certain links vs others and it’s happening intermittently across the platform. Some people still have the same posting abilities but others do not.

I will say, I’ve definitely seen an uptick in the “Not Found” errors in posting tweets across BGOL in the last week or so. Far more prevalent than before Elon’s arrival.
