Depends on the genre. That's why this was a bad match up IMO
Although they compete in SOME areas, Babyface mostly made music for a different crowd.
He did the first two albums for Toni Braxton and a LOT of stuff for Whitney in the 90's.
Teddy was mostly in the Hip Hop scene and when he took on MJ it wasn't that great IMO
Teddy was pathetic... how does your phone run out of battery power on a night like this. Didn't he know before the start of the event? The phone should have been plugged into power the whole time if the cable was just next door.
Why did he keep getting up and leaving the room? U have a battle for 1 hour, U prepare and sit your ass down for 1 hour. Especially when U have multiple techies supporting U. We did not see any techies behind Babyface if there were any...
All his songs were about hard hitting grooves. It gets monotonous after 10 songs. Babyface even though the majority of his catalogue is softer, has more variety... he could also play his guitar and just sing and that flies...
For me, Babyface wiped the floor with Teddy. I havent heard any new material from Teddy in a while. I was disappointed with that live set he did with Blackstreet a few weeks ago. Their clothing and presentation was atrocious. 40-50 year olds with grey beards, dressed like teens. They seem caught in a time warp and have not been able to mature. Babyface in contrast presents himself with smooth style and class. As a legend he had his act together. Teddy and his crew were just disappointing yet again.

Why take sides? Why do we always have to take a side instead of just enjoying two greats taking the time to put on a show
I didnt like all the technical difficulties and I think Babyface ultimately won but your take is kinda harsh for what was a free show
This is what I have been trying to get across to folks. Its a free fucking show that you didn't have to leave your home for. So why are so many people taking this so personally? There's something else behind the personal anger.
It's funny how the angry people are the Babyface fans because I have yet to see anyone being disrespectful towards Babyface.

Brotha I'm one of the biggest Prince fans we All know he wrote for the time. But .jimmy jam and terry wrote some songs also..which lead to prince firing them. Think bout it..why prince fired them? Interviews with jimmy and terry said prince fired them. So they said well we're free agents lets write for other people. They had some success..thats when prince got them back. Member prince was a control freak

True, but I dont think it would be the same amount of people. Regardless it would be alot. They should have partnered with someone like BET. Took a lil time and had it be the superbowl of song battles with the platform they point people to be a place they collect emails.
No of course not. People charge for things they didnt create everyday king, i dont understand that point. I do agree that those involved dont have to charge to get paid. Which is why I dont fully agree with charging people. I think just doing it on your own platform is the way to go.
