All Marvel/Disney had to do was make a Blade movie with BOTH Mahershala Ali AND Wesley Snipes... with Wesley "handing the torch" to Mahershala by the time the final credits rolled.
The concept is not that hard to understand.

He's the guy who created the whole "Underworld" movie franchise!!! That's all they needed to GET STARTED...

With those 3 guys, Disney could add ANYONE ELSE to that cast/crew and it would make at least $700-$800 million at the box office, in the USA alone... because I don't see a new Blade movie making less than "Wakanda Forever" made at the box office.
- The first Ant-Man movie had a production budget of $130 million.
- The first Doctor Strange movie had a budget of $165 million.
- But a new Blade movie doesn't even need that much.
- About $100 million should get it done, at the bare minimum.
The dude is calling it stupid while simultaneously laughing at it.

I often wonder if they would ever setup their directors like they do their writers...Coogs will be responsible for Black Panther, JJ Abrams will handle the X-men, i know there are crazy schedules but just to keep the continuity where you dont have things fall off like thor love and thunder and Doc Strange: MOM.

And then have EVERYONE in house collaborating on every project with their suggestions expertise etc hence the reshoots these so called fans get all in a tizzy about.

I wouldn't be against a totally new director - other than the usual suspects. I trust KF to read the room because I think Marvel needs to pivot somewhat. Call it superhero fatigue or just post-COVID attitude change, but folks just don't look at comic book movies the way they once did.
You can keep serving chicken but you'd better season and cook it differently.

But looking at Sinners? Damn I wish Coogler had got it.
I think the easiest slam dunk is to get the Wick or Gang of London guys.

Get Blade to London New Orleans and Haiti or Jamaica.
A new updated killer opening club scene
A one shot hallway fight but through a cemetery or abandoned church.

I'm sure they're doing focus group testing to see where folks' heads is at.
When I think about it, we, and I take liberties here, were okay with all the suspension of reality before COVID hit us all with a big-ass dose of reality.
So Marvel will have to pivot so things are not so totally fantasy. CA:BNW tried with real-world allusions but whoever thought Anthony Mackie could carry a picture, let alone a franchise is crazy.
So basically I see with BNW that Fiege is aware of the changed landscape and is trying to find that power niche.
I don't disagree with any of your thoughts but whoever it involved will have to vibe with KF. After that we'll see what we see.

It's like the NFL hiring the black coach to fail build everything up and then give it a white one.
Let them get this right with the best talent available. I don't want recycled losers but experience is not a bad thing.
And you can't be critical of Marvel for that, they have always given new directors and writers a chance from Russos to Coogler etc.
This is a very important high profile project. I would want Chad to at least executive producer to make sure this gets done right
and I still think the gangs of london crew should be the final choice.
