MOSCOW, April 22 (Reuters) - Any move by the United States to seize frozen Russian assets would be illegal, set a dangerous precedent and be challenged in court, the Kremlin said on Monday, promising that it would retaliate.

The U.S. House of Representatives on Saturday passed a $95 billion legislative package providing security assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan that included a measure for the potential transfer of seized Russian assets to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the Group of Seven (G7) major powers are discussing the possibility of using some $300 billion of sovereign Russian assets, frozen in the West, to help fund support for Ukraine.
"This is a breakdown of all foundations of the economic system," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters. "It is an encroachment on both state holdings and private property. These are illegal actions."

He said there would be some kind of retaliation and legal action, without going into details.

"If such measures are implemented, many countries and investors will think 10 times before investing in the U.S. economy or keeping their holdings there," Peskov said.

A top Russian lawmaker on Monday said Russia now has grounds to confiscateWestern assets after the U.S. legislation was passed. Moscow has already placed some Western assets under temporary management and forced scores of asset transfers from foreign to domestic buyers at discounts of at least 50%.

NATO believes that Russia may finally turn the course of the conflict in Ukraine in its favor in the coming weeks
NATO believes that Russia may finally turn the course of the conflict in Ukraine in its favor in the coming weeks
This was reported by alliance officials to the British newspaper i. According to them, fatigue from the fighting is beginning to manifest itself in Europe, and Western diplomats have been reporting for several months that Kiev is slowly suffering defeat.
One of the NATO representatives said that the Russian Armed Forces could achieve significant success in the Donbas this winter, thereby depriving the Ukrainian authorities of a chance to settle on their own terms.

so NATO "now" believes:
- russia was losing before "now"
- while some how also believing the last 18 months of Russia grinding through Ukraine's defense forces in Donbas and using Kursk to liquidate a large percentage of Ukraine's motorised weapons from NATO countries
was just a warmup

Report: Russia plotted to start fires on planes bound for Canada and the U.S.

The plot — first reported in The Wall Street Journal — should serve as a warning to Canada to do more for Ukraine in its war against Russia, and to beef up its own defence budget, said Maria Popova, an associate professor of political science at McGill University.

“We absolutely need to be clear-eyed that Russia considers us an enemy,” Popova said Monday. “This goes beyond Russia’s desire to conquer Ukraine.”

On Monday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Western security officials “believe that two incendiary devices, shipped via DHL, were part of a covert Russian operation that ultimately aimed to start fires aboard cargo or passenger aircraft flying to the U.S. and Canada, as Moscow steps up a sabotage campaign against Washington and its allies.”

Russians may be out of missiles, tanks and microchips, but Russia NEVER runs out of flags! They keep planting new ones at new locations every day.

Trump said he would call both and stop war asap once in office.

If they don’t want to talk, Zelensky would get no aid, if Putin don’t want to talk Zelensky would get everything

I know early on Zelensky said he would not agree to talk with Russia and ceasefire until all of Putin troops go home

This should be interesting
