Former Marvel star Jonathan Majors will be honored at the fourth annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards, months after being convicted in a domestic violence trial.
During the June 21 event, the embattled 34-year-old actor will be presented with the Perseverance Award which, per the organization, is "given to an individual who has shown that no matter what adversity they face, they will continue to aspire to inspire."
Jonathan Majors was 'shocked and afraid' by his conviction: 'I was reckless with her heart, not her body'
The announcement comes after the Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star was found guilty on one count of assault and one count of harassment in December 2023, following a dispute with his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Majors did not face prison time for the conviction, but a Manhattan criminal court judge ruled in April that the actor must complete a 52-week in-person batterer’s intervention program. He was also ordered to continue his mental health therapy.

The awards show, founded by Hollywood Unlocked CEO Jason Lee, claims to celebrate accomplishments and contributions for the Black community across music, film, media, politics, and additional creative industries. In addition to Majors, the event will recognize designer Christian Louboutin with the Innovator Award, legendary rapper Fat Joe with the Culture Award, and Cardi B with the Inspiration Award. Tiffany Haddish will host the Los Angeles show, held at the Beverly Hilton.

Majors filed his own domestic violence complaint against Jabbari that June, claiming that she had assaulted him. Jabbari was arrested on misdemeanor charges of assault and criminal mischief, but the Manhattan District Attorney's Office declined to prosecute the case against Jabbari, citing a lack of prosecutorial merit.

I realize this is completely INSANE and NEVER going to happen

I could maybe might be able see a way for Marvel to just let him come back to close out the storyline.
Pure bullshit case. That obviously autistic brother was killing it as Kang.
I don't hate the idea, but from Marvel's perspective, they are at a pretty good spot to cut and run.
The Loki finale was a solid cutoff point for the particular Kang variants that it covered. And there is not set rule that says that Kang, if he returns, has to resemble his other forms. In fact, it would be a nice mislead if they suddenly and surprisingly had him resurface as someone else.
That said, Marvel could definitely pull the guts move of the century if they had Majors reappear as Kang. If you thought If they thought I was hype for that first Thanos cameo, they have no idea how much I would flip if dude just popped up with no warning like, "Hey. Remember me?"
