One thing I know about him is that he was very much in control of his image and his legacy...
I would not be surprised if his estate releases a new album filled with videos and behind the scene material, every year for the next 20 years... With all of the proceeds going towards poor black children or something like this..

Back in the era of Basquiat and Haring and Levan there was this club called Nell's that us club kids were regulars at. In this club one could find many a "celebrity" dancing right along side you or with you like it was just a party. No special VIP area and bottle girl service and ridiculous hoopla. Just a good ol party.
But one rather short man would come in through the back and change the entire energy of the party. The women present would be unable to take their eyes off of him as he did his very lowkey two step with his one security overlooking.
I would be in full hater mode back then and took great pleasure of "accidentally" stepping on his feet from time to time in doing my bumbling dance moves. He would give me this look of "pity" at more poor dance skills and never became irate and even a smile or gesture of support when I "almost" stumbled into him but caught myself. His one towering security dude would do his best to keep from smiling as he clearly saw my antics for what they were.
I've seen the Legend that is Prince and would be my generations Jimmy Hendrix a few times since those days. I always assumed I would actually get to tell him this story at some point and see if he remembered those days.
Bucket list fail and one of the saddest things to hear in a long time, as we would brag about Prince taking our female interest back then.
Thank you Prince for having a presence of such magnitude in the smallest man I've ever met.
