There are some Mav fans protesting outside the arena earlier. I don't think you will find too many Maverick fans happy with this trade. But yeah its usually the players expected to be loyal to the city.
Fans are slaves to their regular jobs and are envious of the salaries and leverage athletes have. They view the players thru the prism of ownership and management even though they are poor and will never own a sports franchise.
